#10: Nissin Cup Noodles Pumpkin Spice Flavor -United States
I know that many will be taken aback by my #10 pick, but this one was really quite good. The flavor profile is incredibly apt; it delivers on what is proclaimed on the cup – it does indeed taste like pumpkin spice. What I found interesting about this one was everything that could be done with it as well – preparing it and leaving it overnight on the refrigerator door was a nice possibility. Grinding it and making a pumpkin pie worked as well. That being said, nowhere is it mentioned to consume this in any way other than it’s shown on the package directions. My scoring was based on that – it mentions cooking and adding whipped cream. It’s really great if you like pumpkin spice – if not, then that’s a shame. Original review
#9: Fan’s Kitchen Premium Instant Noodles With Stewed Beef Flavour – China
Noodles are flat with a soft texture. They’re unique in that they’re a little thicker than most. The broth is a nicely oily beef flavored one – not overly salty, either. Very impressed with this one. I should mention there are a few more in this range worth trying. Original review
#8: mi ABC Mi Goreng Mi Instan Cup Stir-Fry Noodles – Indonesia
The noodles are light which lends itself nicely here. Flavors intermingle well – spicy, sweet and savory. This is a very good mi goreng and highly enjoyed by this reviewer. Original review
#7: Mamee Chef Curry Laksa Flavour – Malaysia
These noodles are produced using Mamee Chef’s ‘Mi Tarik’ technology which emulates hand pulled noodles. The broth has a rich and luxuriant curry flavor and is augmented by a myriad of garnish including little tofu puffs. Original review
#6: Maruchan QTTA Curry Ramen – Japan
QTTA (pronounced coo-tah) translated to ‘I’m full/satisfied.’ A cup full of rich curry and thick noodles, with a lot of different included garnish. It definitely should fill you up. Original review
#5: iMee Chicken Green Curry – Thailand
I honestly expected a kind of boring variety here but was very wrong about that. The green curry flavored broth is absolutely luxuriant and very flavorful. The noodle suits is just perfectly – definitely not one to pass up if you can find it – nor it’s red curry counterpart either. Original review
#4: Liangshi Nara Japanese Noodles (Salted Egg Crab Flavor) – China
The noodles are thin but nicely chewy for an instant. Three minutes brought them to life perfectly. The flavor is a real show stopper – a nice blast of salted egg and a strong crab are augmented with a buttery taste – the whole experience is just sensational and very tasty. A little herb sachet rounds things out. Truly exceptional. Original review
#3: Noodie Peanut Chili Irresistible Ramen – United States
These reminded me of some kind of 25th century instant noodle. Noodles are light with a slight chew. The sheer amount of vegetable is great and since they’re freeze dried they add a lot of flavor. The peanut sauce and chili sauce compliment each other masterfully. I would recommend pouring them over instead of stirring them in – I’ll definitely be doing this one again and doing so as it was hard to find the chili sauce when I stirred it all up – but honestly when I did it was just wonderful stuff. Truly a product that is worthy of it’s fancy packaging. Original review
#2: MyKuali Penang Hokkien Prawn Noodle Authentic Taste – Malaysia
If you like prawn like I like prawn, and I really like prawn, you’re going to be exceedingly enthused about this variety. The sheer amount of prawniness is just wonderful – a thick, sweet and spicy broth, great noodles, and included fried onion just come together so well. Original review
#1: MyKuali White Fish Broth Cup Noodle – Malaysia
Winding up at the number one spot again this year! Just love this one. A good noodle paired with the new White Fish Broth. It’s salty, full of flavor, has a good oiliness and thickness (has a feel like a chowder) and is just super good. Vegetables include little pepper rings that add a little zing. Excellent! A Petition To Benefit Those In Need
For the last few years, a thought has been bouncing around in my head. Why is there a spot to donate a dollar to elections on tax returns? I think that little spot can be better by donating a dollar or some set amount to Veterans who are living in poverty. At the end of tax season, the donations can go to all who qualify. I think that would be a good thing. I started a petition to do this, and if you’re in the USA, you can sign it here and please feel free to share it around! Thanks!
Definitive Guides
This year, I’ve decided to do a special series called Definitive Guides. Recipes, trivia, history, and more on some of the most loved and fascinating varieties of instant noodles around the world! So far, I’ve got one on Nongshim’s Shin Ramyun, and Indomie’s Mi Goreng and Nissin Foods’ Cup Noodles Pumpkin Spice! Future guides will include MAMA Tom Yum, and more. My plan is do feature one or two products from each country.

The Ramen Rater App For Android
The Ramen Rater App for Android has been given a whole new look and functionality. You can scan bar codes to see reviews I’ve done while at the store, peruse the top ten lists, and do simple searches. It’s really great – even a dark mode! Best of all it’s free and currently ad-free.
The Ramen Rater Shop
People have been asking where to get a lot of varieties and so I’ve partnered with Exotic Noods to bring you The Ramen Rater Shop. Here you’ll find an expending variety of instant noodles at a pretty decent price. You’ll be able to try a wide array of varieties and not have to buy a ton of each variety. I really wanted to have a way you could just buy a single pack of two at a time. The same way I do when I visit an Asian grocery.
