Here’s an interesting one from Japan found in a Zenpop box – check out zenpop.jp and use the coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount!
Here’s what they had to say – ‘Tsuruhashi Fugetsu Yakisoba is a cup noodle sold only in Kansai. Kansai is the region where we are located, with Osaka at its heart. Tsuruhashi Fugetsu, now as a restaurant chain that offers okonomiyaki, etc. with its main store in front of Tsuruhashi Station, actually has its origins elsewhere. Fugetsu (⾵⽉) used to be a small okonomiyaki
restaurant in Tenma, Osaka, which was originally founded in 1950. Fugetsu’s characteristic thick noodles are “kamaage egg noodles”. They are a match for the soup, that gives the bowl a sweet and gentle texture, slightly different from the sharp scent of Worcestershire sauce, and perfectly represents the aromas you’d find at an okonomiyaki restaurant. The portion is served with cabbage, seasoned pork, squid!’
In the description above, they mention soup; I’m kind of unsure what’s going on there. It certainly looks like a standard yakisoba insofar as it’s preparation. I’m curious about this one.
