#4236: MAMA Instant Dried Jade Noodles Duck Flavour - Thailand

Wanted to start this post by wishing Miles a happy 7th birthday! Spider Miles aka the Cheez-It king! Hope you have a happy one! He’s not ever awake yet as it’s barely 7am – got a lot of surprises in store! No instant noodle cooking for me today, buddy! Time to bake a cake! Wahooo!!! Still can’t believe he’s going into second grade!

I have a complaint. Everywhere I’ve been in Southeast Asia, one thing I found easy to enjoy was duck. Duck and sea cucumber in Malaysia. Special cherry duck in Taiwan. Duck soup in Thailand. But here, duck isn’t so popular as there. Why is that? Why don’t we have more duck? Why can’t I get it at the local grocery store as easily as chicken? It baffles me. Duck is so flavorful and a wonderful thing to enjoy. braised duck! Crispy duck! Duck steamboat for God’s sake – this lack of duck alone makes me want to relocate! I’m sure the chickens wouldn’t mind a little copetition in the grocery store. Well, we have a duck flavor variety to try, but alas, I’ve no duck to pair with it which really makes me feel unhappy. I really would have liked to get a little bit of freshly cooked duck to go alongside. An America without duck is no America at all!

Well, there’s my rant about how much I feel duck is overlooked in the United States. It’s not overlooked in Thailand though and so we shall give this special 50th Anniversary variety a try.
