It’s been a long time since I reviewed a Buldak variety, that’s for sure! I have tried the curry before, but it’s been a very, very long time. The packaging is new, and I’m guessing the recipe is slightly different as well. Below you can see everything about this including my review, a video of cooking it, and then of course, a mukbang. This is the version for export to the United States. Let’s give it a go – hope I can handle it!
Samyang Foods Buldak Curry Artificial Spicy Chicken Flavor Ramen – United States
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle and flake in 600ml boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain, saving 8 tablespoons of water (8 x 15ml = 120ml). Add liquid base sachet and water and noodles back to pan and stir fry 30 seconds. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A large sachet of sauce.
A vegetable flake sachet.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added fried egg, baked chicken, spring onion, and sesame seed. I was not expecting what I found here. This is absolutely excellent! There’s a nice curry flavor enrobing the noodles. Noodles are thick with a nice chew to them. The heat was the biggest surprise – it’s very light compared to every other Buldak variety I’ve sampled. I could eat this any time. I expected my mouth to be on fire, but I didn’t even come close to feeling like it was in the super spicy class that Buldak usually brings. Savory, delicious, and spicy. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8801073113404.
