I’ve seen these a few times and luckily, found them a bit cheaper the other day. This is a stir noodle – no broth. Sounds interesting and a lot of sachets to be sure. Let’s check it out!
Gui Lin Fresh Rice Noodles Dry Mixing Vegetable Brine Flavor – China
A distributor’s label (click to enlarge).
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles until soft. Drain, saving 250ml water. Add everything in including 250ml water. Finally, stir and enjoy!
A large pouch of rice noodle.
A sachet of homemade brine.
A sachet of ‘special oil.’
Unsure of this one.
Some pickled cowpea.
A sachet of chopped chili.
Finally, a sachet of fried soybean.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added green onion, carrot, sesame seed,. Noodle is pretty good – nice gauge and chew for a rice noodle. Broth is surprisingly mild – a lot of pickled ingredients are everywhere which is nice, however the fried soybean kind of misses the mark and seems out of place. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.
