I was contacted recently by a woman named Michelle over at www.homiah.com – a website specializing in the flavors of Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. She asked if I’d like to try some of their products and of course I’m all in on that. So this is the second of three reviews I’ll be doing – stay tuned for the last one. The products are gluten free and as I’m writing this after trying this red curry, so far so very good. Let’s cook some laksa!
Homiah Singaporean Laksa / Laksa Noodle – United States
I’ve been a fan of laksa for a while now – I don’t think I’ve met a laksa I disliked whether it be nyonya or asaam.
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains fish and shellfish. I used one pouch and a little box of coconut milk and brough to a simmer and combined with cooked and drained laksa noodle – and I enjoyed!
A pack of Homiah laksa noodle.
The laksa paste.
The little boxes of coconut milk.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added shrimp, Homiah Malaysian Sambal Crisp, sesame seed, scallion, mung bean sprout, and fried onion. Noodle worked perfectly with the broth which was luxuriant and flavorful. Just wonderful. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 80050033377026.
