This one mentions adding mushroom, scallions, and fishcake. Kind of interesting; being a miso broth udon I would have expected corn to be in the mix. Let’s give it a try!
Kishimen Miso Nikomi Udon – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Unsure if it contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, bring 300ml water to a boil. Stir in sachet contents, and then noodle – stir for 2 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
A fresh pouch of udon.
A big sachet of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added mung bean sprouts, baked chicken, sesame seed, spring onion, and narutomaki. Liked the udon – thick and chewy with a flat shape which I prefer. The broth is very rich – very earthy taste and acrid. This might not sound appealing, but it was strangely compelling – a very rich, strong miso which I enjoyed. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.
