These are made in Vietnam for the US market. From what I read online, Nam Vang is a Cambodian-Chinese soup borrowed by the Vietnamese. The Phnom Penh variety is different however, but what makes it distinctive, I wasn’t able to figure out. Definitely would love to hear what the deal is with this one. Anyways, let’s make some!

A package of noodles.
A sachet of dry powder base.
A sachet of seasoned oil.
A sachet of vegetables.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added basil, canned ham, sesame seed, spring onion, crushed red pepper, and chili peppers. Noodle hydrated great – nice gauge and light tooth. The broth was predominantly buttery which kind of was expected as many of these varieties are, however there was a slight sweetness as well. 3.0 out of 5. 0 stars. UPC bar code 850024719521.
