Big thank you to James from Lakesida, CA for sending these over! This is the second of two new Nongshim Shin varieties recently released. It’s Vegan friendly which appeals to a broader group as time goes on. I’m very curious – I really like their Vgean varieties quite a bit, but generally not a huge fan of mushrooms. So, let’s give it a try and see how it is.
Nongshim Shin Green Mushroom & Fried Tofu – United States
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Says it’s Vegan friendly but check for yourself. To prepare, boil 500ml of water and add all package contents and cook for 4 1/2 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A sachet of soup base.
A second powdered soup base.
A sachet of garnish.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added sesame seed, green onion, and mung bean sprouts. Noodle was very good – sturdy chew and great gauge. Heat level was definitely Shin class. The flavor was very mushroom, and I’m just not big on mushrooms. The tofu was very soft and spongy too, and that’s something I’m not so enthused about. If you like mushrooms and can stand heat though, this might do you right. 1.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 031146063529.
