Here’s something new from a company that doesn’t roll out new products every day! I emailed them asking for a sample and here it is. A spicy yakisoba? Interesting – and it looks like it gets prepared in the same fashion as their knockout Chow Mein noodle – let’s get to trying this!
Sapporo Ichiban Sriracha Yakisoba Japanese Style Noodles – United States
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil 240ml water in a skillet and add noodle block. Flip iot after a minute. Stir and loosen and continue cooking until water has been absorbed, then add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A single sachet of seasoning.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallion, sesame seed, sriracha sauce. The noodle is just like I expected and same as their Chow Mein, which I adore. It aliso has a lot of the same flavor as the Chow Mein, augmented by a little tangy zing and light heat. I like it, although I think it could do with a little more tint of sriracha, but if you’re buying this, you’ve probably got that on hand like I did and would add it yourself. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.
