A big thank you to The Fat Hipster from YouTube for sending this over – so I figured this sounds like a good place to start. Why? Well, I realized in my post schedule for YouTube that this would come on Valentine’s Day, so hearts, Valentine’s day – not an extreme stretch. This appears to be a less spicy version – but it’s also got something else going on. The packaging scheme looks a lot like Buldak Light.
Samyang Foods Buldak Lovely Hot – South Korea
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Unsure if it contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle in 600ml water for 5 minutes. Drain. add noodle and 8 spoons water (15ml * 8 = 120ml) and stir fry for 30 second. Finally, top with garnish and enjoy!
Definitely not the same as Buldak Light – fried wheat noodle here.
A sachet of sauce.
A sachet of garnish.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added soft egg and green onion. Noodle is great – gauge and chew are just wonderful. I should note this isn’t for the person who will expect this to be mind numbingly spicy – this is for those who think the flavor of Buldak is great, but just too spicy. This is savory and sweet with a nice bit of heat. It was aptly named; it’s really quite lovely. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8801073115224.
