To do this, Toybox teamed up with TRY (Tokyo Ramen of the Year) magainze. This seemed fitting, as TRY ranks at the very top of Tokyo in any ramen category. This instant ramen is based on their top selling, chicken forward shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. Dripping with chicken oil, the soup carries the same warm chicken flavor. Everything is great. But the slice of pork might just be the best in instant ramen we’ve ever tried.’

Maruchan x TRY Toybox Shoyu Ramen – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains pork. To prepare, add the solid ingredients sachet and 450ml water to fill line and cover 5 minutes with liquid sachets sitting atop.Add in remaining sachets. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added shichimi, sesame seed, egg, spring onion, narutomaki, and mung bean sprout. The noodles are just perfection – great tooth and gauge; indicative of ultra premiumness. The broth is a really savory shoyu. Was the chashu as good as Frank says? Yeah – it’s pretty darn good – well seasoned too. Lots of menma throughout, although I did get an initial piece with very fibrous character – almost woody.
