A week. Last week I mean. Feeling crummy. Started Sunday and went on until Thursday. Then Friday happened and it was like I was pretty much at 100% again, which was really nice. Went out for a nice walk, then went out shopping. I definitely wanted to see what was up at Asian Family Market – the next day would be Lunar New Year. Got a few things, this being one of them. Looks interesting; let’s check it out!
Wang Malatang Udon – United States
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add in noodle and all but oil sachets and hot water up to line. Cover with lid loosely and microwave @1000W for 3 minutes. Add in oil. Finally, stir and enjoy!

A pouch of udon.
A soup base sachet.
A sachet of vegetables.
A sachet of spicy oil.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added chashu, crushed red pepper, mung bean sprout, green onion, and sesame seed. The udon is your standard shelf-stable fresh udon – good stuff. The broth was very spicy, leaning mostly on Sichuan pepper oil, and a lot of chili pepper heat as well. It was good – strong, but good – lots of vegetable content and nice oiliness. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 087703066427.
