Here’s what they had to say ‘Here we have a broth with very deep flavors from the Maru Uma series (まる旨). Acecook launched this series focusing on making every single cup more “umai”, delicious. Umai has a special meaning in Japan, and we’ve got a specific article about this on our blog. In this cup, the Umai-effect comes from the fragrant tonkotsu soup. It’s made from domestic pork back fat, and has an additional pork extract base paired with garlic and ginger for more aroma. To match the deep broth, Acecook added smooth and crisp round noodles and topped up the cup with wood ear mushrooms, sesame seeds, green onions and a little red picked ginger.’
The part about the red pickled ginger makes me laugh. I used to use red pickled ginger on everything I reviewed practially… Indonesian, American, Korean – doesn’t matter I used it on all of it. Well, those days have been over for a long time. Let’s give this one a try!

Loose bits and seasoning from the cup.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added soft egg, mung bean sprouts, spring onion, chashu, shichimi, and sesame seed. Noodle was pretty good, I’ll give it that. The broth has a nice flavor – a little thin, but pretty good. Nice vegetable amount as well. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN 4901071246228.
