Got these a little while back – thanks to the folks at Best Wok! I’ve been saving this one as the last one which wasn’t the hot and spicy was so good. Let’s give this one a try! Oh, and yes – these noodles are made completely from CORN!!
I’ve been reviewing instant noodles since 2002, doing episodes of Instant Noodle Recipe Time, The Chocolate Break with my wife, Professional Mukbang, Unboxing Time With The Ramen Rater and more. Right now, we’re in a pretty crummy financial situation and hoping that some of the fans will be able to help out – a lot of bills, loss of some resources, and ongoing illness have all contributed to being a perfect storm which is very hard. Big thank you to all who have already!! Please check the link here for details – thank you.
Best Wok Corn Bihun Hot & Spicy Fried Bihun – Indonesia
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle block for 2 minutes. Drain. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The corn vermicelli.
The dry base.
Seasoned oil.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, sesame seed, crushed red pepper, and coriander. Noodle as usual is quite nice – like a rice vermicelli yet not so dry. The flavor is a salty, sweet, and spicy combo – all the hallmarks of mi goreng. The difference is that the noodle is light and almost slightly fluffy – it’s a really interesting mouthfeel and quite innovative. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8991688891375.
