Here’s what they had to say about this one -‘Yakisoba, known as fried noodles, is beloved soul food in Osaka and a popular treat during Natsumatsuri at Yatai, the food stalls. Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Contains chicken and pork. To prepare, fill to line with boiling water and cover 3 minutes. Drain. add in clear sauce sachet and stir. Use mustard sachet to draw or do a design on top. Finally, sprinkle dry sachet contents over and enjoy!

The noodle block.

Yakisoba sauce.

A sachet of shichimi or green laver (seaweed).

A sachet of mustard.

Loose bits from the tray.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added chashu, narutomaki, spring onion, and sesame seed. This is just such a fantastic product. The noodle is in a great quantity and has a spongy character which works well here. It gets very coated with the sauce which is your classic yakisoba flavor – tamarind/Worcestershire-esque. Included vegetables are really nice. The mustard sauce though – wow. It just give it such a nice balance between the semi-dry noodle and a greasy texture. All in all, perfection. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4902881048651.
