This one looks really interesting as you’ll see below with the noodles. Found this at 99 Ranch Market – they’ve had quite a few of this brand and I think I have one more. Time to review…
Hezhai Sour Soup Noodles – China
A distributor / import sticker (click to enlarge).
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains shrimp. To prepare, add in everything and fill to line with boiling water. Let sit for 5 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
Well this was unexpected – they looks to be short lengths of belt noodles.
A powder base.
More powder.
Likely black vinegar for the sour aspect.
An oil – spicy, perhaps?
Finished (click to enlarge). Added chashu, mung bean sprout, sesame seed, narutomaki, spring onion, and crushed red pepper. The ‘noodles’ were rectangular and flat belt style noodles. They weren’t bad – however the broth was really weird. It had a sour aspect that got knocked out by a very chemically and confusing flavor I can’t recommend at all. 0.25 out of 5.0 stars.
