#4781: Hezhai Hot And Sour Glass Noodles - China

Found this one at 99 Ranch Market recently. I’ve had to make trips to Asian grocery stores as my stock has been greatly depleted late. But I have found tha there’s an easy way to counter this – one review per day. I had been working on four per day and getting really far ahead. I published #4583 toda, so I’m about 200 reviews ahead. That’s quite a bit.

I want to talk about something that happened to me lately that might be a warning to others who might not know they’re in the same predicament. This is something rather personal, but I think it’s important. Last week was a very hard one for me. As you probably know, I walk. A lot. Well, this kept me away from home. A lot. My wife was stuck at home with the kids. She started to wonder if I was seeing someone else or just sick of the situation at home of being with her and the kids. She was pretty much done with feeling lonely and let me know in no uncertain terms. She’d told me before, but I didn’t really listen; I kept doing what I’d been doing (blockhead I suppose). Well, I haven’t been seeing anyone else or walking with anyone – I was oddly addicted to walking. I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t hang around at bars – I was exercising. The thing that kept my brain wrapped around it was my little Fitbit device. I wanted to get as many steps per day counted as possible. I was stressed out – I had to walk as much as possible – so I thought. Why all this walking? Health! Being able to be healthier for my family! In the end, it was keeping me from my family. So, I decided to change. I ditched the Fitbit. My family is the most important part of my life and definitely worth making changes for.

Long story short, I mark this as a warning – don’t get too absorbed in things you’re interested in that you lose sight of what matters in your life – whether it be a Fitbit (I’m probably the only one who was that into that little device I can think of) being absorbed in too much work, a hobby, anything. I’m lucky – and now I feel happy – my wife is happy, and my kids are happy.  So there you go – maybe you don’t have something like this going on, but you should be mindful of it – ambition can be detrimental.

Okay enough of that let’s try this thing!
