Been wanting to try these for a while. We found them at Whole Foods market in Lynnwood, Washington. I’ve tried emailing the company a couple of times, but never received a response. Ah well. These are curious – they really look like Taiwanese dry noodles. Let’s check out this one with more to follow soon.
Omsom Saucy Noodles Chili Sesame – United States
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Says it’s Vegan friendly but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle for 4 minutes. Drain. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A very large sachet of sauce.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added beef, egg, mung bean sprouts, crushed red pepper, spring onion, and sesame seed. Noodle resembled a Taiwanese dry noodle, but the tooth was very, very soft. The flavor was interesting and somewhat familiar. A combo of black vinegar (which was more like just regular white vinegar), coupled with sesame paste and Sichuan pepper. It confused and enamored me until I realized what it reminded me of. Acid reflux. It really tasted like burping up red onions that didn’t agree with me. Hopefully the next one is a bit better. 0.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 850013525577.
