The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

Every year I pick my favorites out of all the reviews I’ve done. In the past, I’ve had lists that have multiple companies with multiple entries. I decided this year that I would change that. Starting with this list, only one entry per company will be on the list. I’ll mention other noteworthy varieties in the text of each one which I think will give more opportunities for folks to try new things. This new way of doing things will be reflected in this list, the upcoming Bottom Ten, Top Ten Bowls, and Top Ten Cups lists.

I was thinking this would be great with the countries lists at first, but then realized that could be problematic, so just the big lists for now. This list is current as of review #4804. Be sure to check out announcements below – lots of neat stuff going on! I hope you enjoy The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition and find something new to try!

#10: Myojo Ippei-chan Yaten no Yakisoba – Japan

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

Who’s in the mood for yakisoba? This is a classic yakisoba – great noodle and that tamarind infused flavor with a tanginess which is augmented by a wonderful mayonnaise and mustard taste. I’ve tried plenty of varieties of this range of yakisoba from Myojo – including tartar sauce and barbecue flavor! This one by far is my favorite and I highly recommend it. #9: Ramen Talk Tom Yum Goong – China

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Ramentalk this year – a range of really top-notch products including a bolognese, tonkotsu, and more. This one was particularly excellent. A soft noodle is paired with a rich tom yum broth with a nice oiliness and slight thickness. What’s more, it included a sachet containing octopus and carved squid! Very sumptuous and enjoyable. #8: Indomie Mi Instan Mi Keriting Goreng Spesial – Indonesia

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

Indomie is synonymous with Indonesia. That being said, they’ve so many varieties – this being my all time favorite. A special premium instant is paired with nice vegetable medley and great chicken flavor – as well as a good bump of heat. In the compilation of this list, I decided to see all the 70+ flavors I’d tried – that list is here and it’s pretty long. Original review | Get it here

#7: Red Chef Hae Bee Hiam – Singapore

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

For a few years, I’ve had the chance to try out all sorts of neat varieties from Red Chef – a savory Sakura Prawn, a unique Green Tom Yum, and many more. This one is by far my favorite – and definitely for those who enjoy prawn flavor. A non-fried noodle is paired with hae bee hiam – a Malaysian concoction that marries oiliness, a touch of heat, sweetnewss of prawn, and a little chewy bit of prawn as well. It’s a savory masterpiece of epic proportion. Original review | Get it here

#6: Mamee Chef Mi Goreng Perisa Rendang Legenda – Malaysia

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2024 Edition

Malaysian food is really wonderful stuff – I’ve tried it firsthand. Mamee Chef has graced my lists for years – from their Curry Laksa, Curry Lontong and more. This one is particularly wonderful. Take a great noodle and pair it with the flavors of traditional mi goreng, and add a strong basil bump to it. Really gives it a nice gourmet experience and really quite exotic. #5: Mom’s Dry Noodle Surfmama Goose Oil Zhajiang Noodle – Taiwan

#5: Mom's Dry Noodle Surfmama Goose Oil Zhajiang Noodle - Taiwan

Mom’s Dry Noodle has brought the flavor for years now. From a beautiful Dan Dan to their Scallop Chicken & Wine boxed noodle soup. This one is a traditional Taiwanese broad, chewy dry noodle paired with this sauce. It reminds me of the filling in bao and is sensational – just so savory and tasty! Really loved this one. #4: MyKuali Penang Black Curry Noodle – Malaysia

#5: Mom's Dry Noodle Surfmama Goose Oil Zhajiang Noodle - Taiwan

MyKuali has floored and enthralled my tastebuds for over ten years now. Their Penang White Curry is legend, and now we have something new and equally wonderful – black curry! The noodle is dark, as you can see. The broth is thick and luxuriant, oily, and with a strong cumin flavor. Really something wonderful to experience. Original review | Get it here

#3: A-Sha Meteor Noodles With Hot & Sour Sauce – Taiwan

#5: Mom's Dry Noodle Surfmama Goose Oil Zhajiang Noodle - Taiwan

A-Sha has been making dry noodle out of Taiwan for years. Past lists have featured their Beef & Tendon Noodles – really great stuff. This one is a new kind of noodle – instead of flat, it’s three-pronged which provides a unique mouthfeel and exceptional chewiness. The hot and sour sauce is really quite nice – the sesame paste adds a great dimension as well. Quite impressive and wonderful. Original review | Get it here

#2: Ippudo Karaka Spicy Ramen – Japan

#2: Ippudo Karaka Spicy Ramen – Japan

Got to try three Ippudo varieties fairly recently and this was definitely my favorite. A thin noodle is pairs perfectly with a rich tonkotsu broth. It’s spicy, but definitely in a complimentary way.Alone, this would be just wonderful – but add that glob of miso and mince and you’ve got an umami bomb of epic proportion. #1: Prima Taste Singapore Wholegrain Laksa La Mian — Singapore

#1: Prima Taste Singapore Wholegrain Laksa La Mian — Singapore

This. This right here. Wow. For years, which has been on my top ten global list for good reason. I should definitely mention – all their varieties are simply wonderful – their Curry Lamian has been on the list alongside this one, however now that I only have a single nomination per company, you won’t see it here – not to say it’s not truly wonderful as well. This one has a thick, chewy noodle with an artisan feel. The broth is out of this world – thick savory, oily, sumptuous, and very filling. It’s unique and really nears sampling as soon as possible – not only the Wholegrain varieties are great – the regular one are as well. Bravo! Original review | Get it here

Future guides will include MAMA Tom Yum, and more. My plan is do feature one or two products from each country.
