Big thanks to Pher Engi for this one! Wikipedia had this to say about Padang cuisine –
Padang food or Minangkabau food is the cuisine of the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is among the most popular cuisines in Maritime Southeast Asia. It is known across Indonesia as Masakan Padang (Padang cuisine) after Padang, the capital city of Western Sumatra province.[1] It is served in restaurants mostly owned by perantauan (migrating) Minangkabau people in Indonesian cities. Padang food is ubiquitous in Indonesian cities and is popular in neighboring Malaysia and Singapore.
Padang food is famous for its use of coconut milk and spicy chili.[2] Minang cuisine consists of three main elements: gulai (curry), lado (chili pepper) and bareh (rice).[3] Among the cooking traditions in Indonesian cuisine, Minangkabau cuisine and most of Sumatran cuisine demonstrate Indian and Middle Eastern influences, with dishes cooked in curry sauce with coconut milk and the heavy use of spice mixtures.
Sounds great! Let’s give it a try!
Mie Sedaap Instant Mie Goreng Salero Padang – Indonesia
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Unsure if it contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle for 3 minutes and drain. Add all sachets but rendang chips sachet and stir. Finally, garnish with rendang chips and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A sachet of powder seasoning base.
A dual liquid base sachet set.
A sachet of spicy sambal sauce.
Rendang chip garnish.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added fried egg, beef, and scallion. Noodle is pretty good – a little thicker than your standard with a chewier consistency. The flavor is very interesting. The sambal imparts a very pickled and vinegary vegetable hit which I didn’t expect and this aspect really permeates the whole dish. The little crunchy rendang flavored bit were nice. Unique and tasty! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8998866202770.
