Here’s another neat one thanks to Pher Engi – thanks again! Ayam Bakar Limau means charcoal grilled chicken with lime. Pretty simple – and recently I’ve enjoyed a citrus chicken mi goreng from another brand which was quite good. Let’s see how this one goes.
Today is the second day of no school for the kids and no work for my wife. We’ve got an ice rink outside – very icy. I watched her start walking to the car and got to the bottom of the steps, to the end of the little walkway, and promptly start slipping and laughed. ‘Come back in don’t break your neck!’ So, she did. It’s nice to have a couple extra days together during the week, but definitely not helpful when it’s lost money. At least this isn’t a common thing, so guessing it’s not going to last long. So, today I’m cooking. Let’s go!
Mie Sedaap Instant Mi Goreng Ayam Bakar Limau – Indonesia
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle in 400ml water for 3.5 minutes. Drain. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A sachet of powder seasoning base.
A sachet of liquid – sambal perhaps.
A dual sachet of seasoned oil and sweet soy sauce.
Crushed rice flour crackers.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added fried egg, fried onion, scallion, sesame seed, crushed red pepper. Noodle is just great for this application. The flavor is a nice chicken and lime with a hint of spiciness. The crushed rice cracker is a nicxe textural touch. 4.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8998866203227.
