Well look at this. Wow. Only 99 reviews until I’ve tried 5000 varieties. That’s crazy! Now I have to figure out what I’m doing for the 5000th review. Has to be something awesome. Well, here goes with 4901!

Here’s what they had to say about it – ‘Everybody loves a good old miso ramen, but this one is a bit out of the ordinary! In the wake of their 70th anniversary, Sapporo Ichiban re-releases their “Sesame Miso ramen” which hasn’t been seen on shelves in Japan since 1983! This sesame blast from the past packs a hearty punch with the richness of the sesame aroma, as well as iconic miso, mixed with pork and garlic broth. The toppings include a crab flavored kamaboko, corn and green onion.’
1983 is when my wife Kit was born – Happily, she’s now 70 years old though that would be weird at this point. Let’s cook!

The noodle block.
A dry base sachet.
A solid ingredients sachet.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, chashu, scallion, narutomaki, sesame seed, and shichimi. Noodle was pretty good – a little extra oomph for it. Broth was a nice mix of miso and sesame. I generally dislike red miso, however the sesame element really works here. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901734052326.
