#4910: Ginding Cuanki Express - Indonesia

Big thanks to Pher Engi for sending this one! Okay you’re probably wondering what cuanki is and I can say that I want to visit Indonesia and give it and try it. Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about it –

Cuanki is a popular snack from the city of Bandung which is made from fish, beef, tapioca flour and other seasonings served with a strong broth containing meatballs, steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, fried tofu and boiled tofu sprinkled with onions. fried and celery leaves.

The origin of Cuanki comes from the Tim Sam food trademark (dimsum) with soup called Bakso Tahu Kuah Choan Kie, in the Bandung area and produced in the city ofCimahi. Choan Kie itself means good fortune. [1]

Cuanki is a kind of dry tofu dumplings or meatballs, which are then given sauce. This food was originally made from pork, because it only catered to consumers of Chinese descent.

In the 80s, a number of former Choan Kie employees, mostly people from several regions, such as Bandung,GarutandCiamis, then tried to produce and sell themselves. The traders modified the basic ingredients, which were originally oil and pork, into shark, so that it could be consumed by the general public. It turned out the market response was good, the soupy food became a new alternative to meatballs and chicken noodles.
