Here’s a variety that I found in one of MiauMall’s Nakama Noodles subscription boxes! Inside, they have 8-10 different varieties from Japan! If you’d like to get one, don’t forget to use the coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount! Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Next up, we’re heading up to Sapporo (which doesn’t directly touch the ocean but it’s SO close). This cup ramen is a powerful combo of flavors, combining shoyu (soy sauce) with mayu (scorched black garlic oil) from Kumamoto to create a black shoyu soup!”
Alright sounds interesting – let’s cook it up.
Acecook The Back Local Shop Sapporo Black Shoyu Ramen – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains chicken and pork. To prepare, fill to line with boiling water and cover 5 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
An instant noodle block.
A liquid base sachet from inside the cup.
Loose bits and seasoning from the cup.
Another liquid base from the lid.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added narutomaki, sesame seed, scallion, and egg. Noodles, while good intentioned, just missed the mark. The broth was alright, but didn’t throw my head back. All in all not bad at all, but it seemed like it was missing something. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901071404390.
