Here’s another one you can only find… In prison. Yup – clear packaging is a giveaway. You can’t get these elsewhere – you will never see them in a grocery store. They are distributed by a company called Keefe Group – don’t call Keefe Group. They don’t want to talk to you – trust me I found out by calling them. This and three other varieties were sent by an anonymous donor – thanks again! Let’s give this a try.
Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup Cajun Shrimp Flavor – United States
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Contains lobster and shrimp. To prepare, boil noodle in 2 cups water for 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents and stir one minute. Finally, enjoy!
An instant noodle block.
The soup base sachet – notice is is clear as well as the pack to dissuade the concealment of contraband.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added shrimp, crushed red pepper, scallion. Noodle was great – nice little bit of tooth. The broth has a great flavor; a shrimp flavor? Ehhh… Didn’t scream that to ne. However it was very good – like a nice savory broth with light oiliness and a good cajun seasoning, like Tony Chachere’s or something along those lines. I enjoyed sampling it in my kitchen though – not in prison where the bulk of folks who taste this are right now… 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 041789002755.
