Here’s a variety that I found in one of MiauMall’s Nakama Noodles subscription boxes! Inside, they have 8-10 different varieties from Japan! If you’d like to get one, don’t forget to use the coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount! Let’s see what they had to say about this one – “Last up is this tasty yakisoba from the famous Maruchan! Yakisoba is a festival classic, so you can’t have a festival box with out it. This pack features tasty noodles and a flavorful yakisoba sauce with a tasty sea lettuce and red ginger topping for a full festival experience!”
I didn’t realize Martuchan’s Seimen range included a yakisoba – interesting. Let’s give it a try!
Maruchan Seimen Yakisoba – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Contains shrimp, chicken, and pork. To prepare, in a frying pan, stir fry some veg and protein. Add 220ml water and liquid base sachet. When boiling, move veg/protein to the side and add the noodle. Lower heat to medium and flip noodle after 1 minute. After another minute start loosening the noodles. Start to mix with the other ingredients. When the liquid is pretty much gone, stir and enjoy!
An instant noodle block.
A sachet of liquid soup base.
A sachet of vegetables.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added ham and scallion. Noodle is pretty good – strong chew for a yakisoba. The flavor is very strong standfard yakisoba, leaning on tamarind and umami. The included sachet has pickled ginger which truly comnpliments with a little bite. I will say is that it was a little salty, and that cabbage – a little baggie of cabbage – would’ve thrown this over the top. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901990514293.
