I received a package version of this one a while back from a reader in Sweden. Well, this is the bowl version. I was also told that the version that can be found in Europe (which has exactly the same packaging) is different than the version sold in Hong Kong. Interesting! I’m curious about the spiciness in this one – the one I got in the mail was on this year’s Top Ten spiciest Instant Noodles Of All Time 2015 Edition list! Let’s have a look!

Meet The Manufacturer: #1775: JML Spicy King Bowl Noodle Spicy Beef Noodle
The other day I reviewed the pack version of this one, and today it’s the bowl! I wasn’t sure who the lady on the bowl was but found out – her name is Dee Hsu – here’s a little on her from Wikipedia –
Meet The Manufacturer: #1774: JML Spicy King Spicy Pork Noodle
We started this Meet The Manufacturer with the bowl version of this variety. Today, it’s time for the pack version! Let’s see if there’s any difference with this one.
Meet The Manufacturer: #1773: JML Supreme Bowl Noodles With Stewed Egg Sour Beans With Pork Flavour
Here’s one that’s truly unique – not only does it have a stewed egg but something called sour beans. I’m wondering if they’re akin to something I tried in Penang at a Nyonya restaurant. Hmmm. Well, I just looked them up and from what I gather, what is in this may be pickled Chinese long bean whereas the smelly beans I had in Penang are somewhat akin to looking like a lima bean but bigger. Anyways, let’s have a look at this one!
Meet The Manufacturer: #1772: JML Spicy King Spicy Beef
This is a very red package! The woman is jubilant with her golden ladle! Her name is Dee Hsu – a popular entertainer from Taiwan. Spicy sounds good – let’s check it out!
Meet The Manufacturer: #1771: JML Supreme Bowl Noodles With Stewed Egg Braised Beef Flavour
This is a real treat – you might be wondering what’s so special. Well, look at the picture – egg! Yep – this one comes with a n egg. Not dehydrated or in an egg block and scrambled, but a stewed egg! Let’s dig in!
Meet The Manufacturer: #1770: JML Spicy King Bowl Noodle Spicy Pork
So to start things off, I thought this looked like an interesting cup. I had one that had a smiliar design quite a while back – and it ended up on the Top Ten Spicy list for 2015! So, I’m wondering how this one’s going to be – spicy? I’m going to bet it’s spicy. Let’s open the lid and look within!
Meet The Manufacturer: Product Samples From JML

#1769: Mamee Chef Lontong Flavour
Close to 50 reviews ago I checked out Mamee Chef’s Longtong Flavour cup version and today I thought it was a good time to try their pack version. I would say that generally, I like packs better than cups. To me, a noodle that’s boiled for a little while tastes better than steeped. Of course there are exception out there, but it generally seems that way.Today is the first review since my wife and I got back from the hospital when my son was born. I uusally am quite a few reviews ahead of the game.
#1768: New Touch Negi Miso no Ippin Ramen
Here’s another one that was sent to me by Javier over at Box From Japan – thanks! Box From Japan is a subscription service – you can get a box sent to you every month with some great noodles within! From what I’m reading, it sounds like this one has a lot of garlic, green onion and leek influence on it. Sounds really good – let’s check it out!
#1767: MAMA Instant Noodles Shrimp Tom Yum Flavour
Here’s one that should be familiar to instant noodle fans from almost everywhere, and especially those from Cambodia! This one is made specifically for the Cambodian marketplace. I got this sent to me after seeing it at the 2015 TF Eurpean Agent meeting I was invited to check out earlier this year in Bangkok, Thailand! Curious to see if it’s different than the one sold here in the US. Let’s find out!
#1766: Paldo Bulnak Bokeummyun King Noodle
I recently did the Top Ten Spiciest list and the not-so-distant cousin of this one (basically the pack version) was in the second place position. I think this one was definitely violently hot and a good choice for the Fire Noodle Challenge that lots of people do on YouTube. Anyways, let’s see what we have in the bowl and maybe I’ll have to give this Fire Noodle Challenge a shot.
#1765: Nissin Cup Noodles Ramen Noodle Soup With Shrimp [New Package]
Hey check it out – Nissin Cup Noodles got a big facelift.
Here’s how they used to look – cardboard outer packaging is now gone. Less packaging and different materials have been used to make them more environmentally friendly. Also, they’re ot microwavable! Yes, I’m sure maky of you microwaved them before, but you weren’t supposed to. The new cups also have a little extra room so you can add veggies and meats or whatever you want to oomph up your noodles! Let’s check this new cup out!
1764: Pirkka Nuudeli Tom Yum Katkarapu
The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Malaysian Instant Noodles Of All Time 2015 Edition
When I visited Malaysia last October, I was asked by a newspaper reported when I thought a Malaysian top ten list might come out. I figured once I got to around 70 reviews I could probably put something together. As of today, I’ve reviewed 100 different varieties from Malaysia. What’s more, I am releasing this top ten list on Malaysia’s Independence Day! Hari Merdeka! Happy Birthday, Malaysia! I hope everyone enjoys this list, in my opinion the best of the best instant varieties Malaysia has to offer that I’ve tried yet.
#1763: Ishimaru Food Tuna Flavor Ramen
Here’s one I got from Shinichi with Ramen Mania! Thanks! This is something new for me – tuna flavored instant noodles. I’ve had tuna before – skipjack tuna flavor from Indonesia. The Ramen Mani site has this to say about it:
#1762: Mom’s Dry Noodle Sesame & Pepper
Here’s another new one from Mom’s Dry Noodle. This one’s got something inside none of the others do – FIVE sachets. Five. That’s a lot! Let’s crack the bag open and see what’s inside.
The New Face Of Nissin Cup Noodles & An Old One, Too
I found out recently that there was a new Nissin Foods USA product or two that was new and asked for some samples – and they arrived today!
#1761: Authentically Asian Natural Quality Foods Pad Thai Noodle Bowl
Here’s another one we found at BigLots in Lynnwood, WA. So Pad Thai is as most folks probably already know, a Thai dish. This bowl is made in China and definitely for the US market. Let’s give it a whirl!
#1760: New Touch Homestyle Tonjiru
Here’s one I got in the package sent by Javier over at Box From Japan – thanks! Box From Japan is a monthly subscription service that delivers different varieties of instant noodles to your door each month – fancy stuff like this one! Definitely worth checking out. Also, thanks go to Shinichi S. for help in translation! So let’s ask Wikipedia about Tonjiru:
#1759: Nissin Cup Noodles Moo Manao Flavour
Here’s yet another one I got from the 7-Eleven next to our hotel from last May’s Bangkok trip. Like some others, this one got banged up pretty good, but still made it through in good enough condition to review. What’s a trip about this one is that it’s showcasing Manchester United. I’ve seen a few products with Manchester United footballers on them. As far as the flavor, I looked aoround and it sounds like Moo Manao is a popular dish with pork and lime. Let’s check it out!
#1758: Vit’s Duck Instant Noodles
I’m always in a quandry when it comes to duck and here’s why: it’s tough to find duck around here. I mean, why can’t we just go to the grocery store and get a couple slices of cooked duck at the deli counter? Chicken? Sure, no prolem. Turkey, pork, beef? Again, no problem. So on this one, I unfortunately have no duck to go with it, which is unfortunate – I really like duck! Well, let’s check out this one from Malaysia!
#1757: iMee Instant Noodles Beef Flavour
Here’s another one that was sent to me by James B. from The Netherlands – thanks! So this one is made in Thailand but definitely for the Dutch market. It’s an interesting one for sure – seen them online for a few years but never been able to get my hands on any – until now! I like how it says ‘decent noodles’ next to where it says iMee – as opposed to indecent noodles! Let’s check ’em out!
#1756: A-Sha Veggie Noodle Carrot Noodle With Original Sauce
I gotta say it’s been a lot of fun reviewing all of this veggie series by A-Sha – so many flavor profiles I’ve not tried before! We finish with their carrot noodle. Carrots are good, but how do they do in a noodle? Well, let’s see!
#1755: MAMA Oriental Style Instant Noodles Hot & Spicy Flavour
Here’s another neat one that I saw during my trip to Thailand and the kind folks at Thai President Foods sent me a sample of! This one’s made in Bangladesh. Hot and spicy sounds good – let’s check it out!
#1754: Paldo King Bowl Super Spicy Pan Stirfried Noodle
Here’s an interesting one I hadn’t seen before. First off, the pull tab is at the top of the bowl. My wife saw this one at a local Korean grocery called GMart. It’s funny; GMart used to be KSMart and before that it was Paldo World. A Mile or so away from GMart is Hmart. The #1 on my spicy list is by a grocery chain in South Korea Called EMart. As if that all wasn’t confusing enough, there’s a new Asian Food Center store in 130th and Aurora – where the old KMart used to be! Anyways, let’s check out this one from Paldo.

Been a couple weeks it seems since I got any packages in the mail – but today I got a nice box from MyKuali! Let’s see what’s inside!
#1752: Kuriki Mayo Ramen
Okay so you might be wondering – mayo ramen – that couldn’t possibly mean… Yes. Where did I get it though?
#1751: Mom’s Dry Noodle Spicy & Sour Flavor
Here’s a new one that just was released! These varieties by Mom’s Dry Noodle have been pretty impressive. This one’s spicy and sour – sounds quite interesting. I’ve tried such flavors from Malaysia before – kind of a description of Laksa, but being from Taiwan I think this is going to be a lot different. Like curry, spicy and sour flavors are different whever you go. Let’s check out this new one from Mom’s Dry Noodle!
Ramen Mania! Rare Ramen To Your Door From Japan
Okay so I asked for help on The Ramen Rater facebook page . I needed someone to do a voiceover for the Bottom Ten List video – in Japanese. Responding to the call was Shinichi. I thought he was in Osaka, Japan.
#1750: Mie Sedaap Instant Cup Mi Kuah Rasa Soto
It’s been really nice having some Indonesian varieties to review again! Seemed like it almost went a whole year without any until recently! This one might confuse Westerners that see it on the shelf so I’ll help you out. Let’s break down Mi Kuah Rasa Soto. It directly translates to noodle soup, soto flavor. Now, soto is a popular Indonesian soup and seems to usually have a lime aspect to it which is very nice. This cup has a lot of stuff going on inside – let’s walk through it.
#1749: Yum Yum Jumbo Instant Noodles Tom Yum Kung Creamy Flavour
Here’s another one I found at the 7-11 in Bangkok during my trip in May. I’m going to guess this may be a little spicy, judging by the eye with the teardrop. Hey – no crying in baseball – or instant noodles! Time to take this one on! Let’s check it out!
Friday Video: A Shoutout To The /reddit/r/Throwers
I saw some traffic coming from a post in a reddit group called Throwers by a guy named moby123 who’s a follower of my reviews and I really had no clue about what ‘throwers’ were. Then I saw it had something to do with yo-yos. Then I saw some clips about the competition they were talking about – the World Yo Yo Contest in Tokyo, Japan. Wow – I’m blown away – this is badass! Here’s a clip of one of the preliminaries. There’s a lot of these videos – I’ve watched at least an hour or so already and I’m just transfixed by the precision, speed and timing of these athletes. Have a good Friday and pick up your yo yos people – you got a lot of practice to come close to this kind of stuff (unless you do this already and if so, I salute you!).
A Thank You To Some Great Local Businesses
I wanted to let people know about some pretty neat places around where I live. I live in a small town called Kenmore which is at the north end of Lake Washington. We moved here in March and really have enjoyed it a lot so far – my wife has commented that she’s felt at home here quicker than any of the other places we’ve lived which is really nice! Anyways, I wanted to give a quick shout out and thank you to some businesses around here that you should check out if you’re in the area!
#1748: Azami Chili Chicken Flavour Noodle Soup
Here’s another one that was sent to me by Justin M. from Winfield, BC up north of here in Canada! Chili chicken sounds like it’d be pretty good; a familiar flavor and a little bit of spiciness? Sure – let’s have a look at this cup.
#1747: Vit’s Curry Instant Noodles
Got this one at the Econsave in Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia last year. Curry noodles! Let’s check ’em out!
#1746: Marutai Ramen Shoyu Taste
Here’s another one from Box From Japan! Thanks, Javier! I also want to thank Shinichi S. for helping with the translation! Shoyu translates to English as ‘soy sauce.’ Shoyu ramen is one of the classics from Japan – been around forever. Let’s see what makes this particular bowl variety tick!
