#4372: You Us GS Retail Omori Kimchi Stew Ramyun – United States
Okay so this is made in Korea but made for sale in the US market. This one’s made by Paldo and I think the ‘GS’ in the GS Retail mention on the logo has to do with GS Mart, a chain in South Korea. I’m looking forward to a nice kimchi bowl – we shall see!
Red Chef & KampongKu: Excellent Malaysian Delicacies
I’ve been enjoying Red Chef products for a long time now and they’ve also got their new brand KampongKu nowadays as well. Pretty exciting when I get a box of noodles from these folks all the way from Malaysia! These are almost all ones I’ve tried before plus a new one I can’t wait to sample! Check ’em out!

Here’s another one made in South Korea and packaged for the US market. These use an interesting noodle style that I’ve only seen hailing from South Koreas. Let’s check it out.

#4366: King David Non-Fried Instant Noodles Chicken Flavour – China
Here’s one sent by King David of China. They’re a big private label outfit; so say your name is Bob and you want to sell Bob’s Noodles. You call up King David and say hi, I’m Bob and they’ll make you instant noodles per your specifications and label them likewise. Pretty neat! Let’s give this non-fried lowfat variety a try!
Happy #CNY2023!!
Happy #CNY2023 to all from The Ramen Rater & Family!!!
#4365: Paldo King Noodle Spicy Chicken Flavor – United States
This one hails from South Korea, but made in this packaging for the US market. They were sent to me by BNB Global – thanks! The mild was good – let’s see how spicy this one is.
#4364: Acecook Saigon Pho Beef Flavor – United States
Here’s the second of these varieties I found recently. I reviewed the beef a couple days ago. Anyways, beef is the more predominate way to enjoy pho. Let’s give this one a try.
Amazing Varieties from ramentalk.us
I got a message from someone on instagram asking me if I’d tried varieties from a company called ‘Ramen Talk’ a couple weeks ago. They really wanted to know where they could get more of them because the locak place they could get them didn’t have any more. Well, I looked around and found ramentalk.us so I was able to get that info to him, and at the same time ask if they could send me some samples. Well, he’s happy and now I’m happy because I got some samples and boy, do these look great! It looks like a couple of them have large slices of chashu; one with octopus?? This should be a fun set to review but let’s start with the unboxing!
The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten South Korean Instant Noodles Of All Time 2023 Edition
After a couple years, here’s The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten South Korean Instant Noodles Of All Time 2023 Edition. It’s been a sort of tough go lately; so few new Korean varieties have crossed my desk. Usually they’ve all been ultra spicy ones, and while good, they’ve not been ones that are top ten listers. There should be a few new ones to the list for next years list that have yet to be published, though. If you’ve an instant noodle company in South Korea, I’d love to review your products. I used to receive samples from the larger companies quite often, but unfortunately not so much recently. This list is comprised of varieties from South Korea that I’ve reviewed up to my 4,300th review. With that, here’s The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten South Korean Instant Noodles Of All Time 2023 Edition!
#4363: Takamori Spaghetti Napolitan – Japan
Here’s one I found in an Umai Crate from Japan Crate! They have boxes full of neat Japanese varieties! Check out www.japancrate.com and use the coupon code THERAMENRATER to score a sweet discount and get some neat noodles!
#4362: Chilkap Perilla Seeds Korean Style Pasta – South Korea
Found this one at Boo Han Market last weekend at the end of July. So, this isn’t ramen, it’s something called sujebi. Looks different that’s for sure. Let’s try it out!
#4361: Uncle Ya Chongqing Noodles – United States
Made in China, packaged for US sale. These have been an interesting series of reviews, but this is the last one of the Uncle Ya varieties. Hopefully we end with a good one!
#4360: Acecook Arisoude Nakatta Tenshinmen Shoyu – Japan
Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount!
#4359: Nu Rea Red Kimchi Udon – South Korea
Another one from S-Mart. There’s a different one which is Black Kimchi flavor – Should be about the same is my guess but red. I remember the black one was a little sweet – maybe this one’s more spicy? Guess only one way to find out.
#4358: Acecook Saigon Pho Vietnamese Rice Noodles Chicken – United States
Here’s another one I found over at S-Mart the other day. This one is made for export to the US – it’s kind of interesting – Acecook is a Japanese company with a factory in Vietnam, and Sanyo Foods (makers of Sapporo Ichiban) are distributing it. Looks interesting – let’s give it a try!
#4357: Shin Horng Hon’s Noodle Soup Seasonal Vegetable Flavour – Taiwan
Well, it sounds like my name. Actually, we used to go to a restaurant in Seattle called Hon’s for that reason when I was very young. We also used to go to the Atlas restaurant – man that place was awesome. One of them literally looked like someone’s living room – it was heaven there. But the true heaven I miss is Taiwan. That place – only a couple weeks of my life I’ve spent there, but every second I knew more and more that’s exactly where I want to live. I’ll be back someday! Let’s try this straight noodle variety from my future home!
#4356: Jongga Seafood Flavored Noodle – United States
Found this one at Boo Han Market in Edmonds, Washington. This one is made in South Korea and packaged for US sale. Interesting style of noodle – let’s check this one out.
Zenpop Japanese Ramen Subscription Unboxing – January 2023
It’s time to unbox a Zenpop.jp box – you get seven varieties of instant noodles to try! I would say that almost every time I’ve gotten one of these, I’ve never tried any of them before which is really awesome. Great as a gift or to hoard for yourself! Use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount! Let’s check it out!
#4355: That’s Asia Pad Thai Sauce With Noodles – United States
What’s that? That’s Asia! Never tried anything from this brand before. They’re made in Thailand for the US market. That’s interesting! But is this That’s good? Let’s find out if That’s is.
#4354: Uncle Ya Peas Fired Noodles – United States
Fried or fired? I think fired since the noodles that come with this one aren’t fried. But – do you fry the noodles? Let’s figure this out. Made in China, packaged for US sale.
The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten American Instant Noodles Of All Time 2023 Edition
This one usually comes out earlier than now, but it’s been rather busy. There’s a couple more lists coming, so stay tuned. These are my favorite varieties I’ve samples thus far. This list is current as of my 4,300th review. Hopefully there will be more great new varieties to try during the next year to add to the list. If you’re a company with some varieties I’ve not tried, please by all means drop me a line! With that, I present The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten American Instant Noodles Of All Time 2023 Edition.
#4353: Ottogi Buckwheat Chilli Noodle – United States
Here’s one made in South Korea and packaged for the Us market. This is a spicy and sweet cold noodle, perfect for summer months. As I write this, it’s just turned to August. We just had a week of temps above 90 degrees – very hot for the Seattle area – record breaking actually. Today it’s much cooler which is a relief. First day in quite a while since I remember the air conditioning being turned off.
#4352: Paldo King Noodle Mild Chicken Flavor – United States
Thanks to BNB Global for sending this along! So this looks like a ‘king cup’ but I tend to consider them bowls. I’m thawing chicken in the sink right now for this one and the previous two as well. It’s hot – it’s about 8pm and 89 degrees (July 30th) and just been a tough go. We’re about to have a record for most 90+ degree days in the Seattle area ever. It’s gross. So, what do I do? I bake pizzas, cook ramen in boiling water. It’s a challenge. Anyways, hopefully when I do this up tomorrow it’ll be cool in the morning. Let’s hit it!
#4351: Myojo Ippeichan Yomise No Yakisoba Mentaiko Flavor – Japan
Well this sounds good. I always am surprised at all the Myojo Ippeichan out there and that there are still varieties I’ve yet to try. Mentaiko is cod roe. Yep – fish eggs. While some might find that strange, fish eggs are all over in Japanese foods. A lot of savoriness! I think I found this one at Asian Family Market a couple weeks ago. Let’s make some yakisoba!
Low Sodium Dry Noodle From A-Sha At Costco
This is a new one – a pretty regular variety from A-Sha, however they’ve done a lower sodium version. Just over 1,000mg per pack – that’s really quite good. This is/will be available at Costco stores, so snatch some up while you can if you like dry noodles! Thanks to A-Sha for sending this over!
#4350: Paldo Bibim Tteokbokki – South Korea
This comes by way of BNB Global – thanks! So Bibim Men is a cold noodle dish – you cook and drain the noodle, rinse with cold water and then add the sauce. This is a variety of tteokbokki, rice cake tubes which are soft and thoroughly enjoyable. This uses the same type of sauce as in the cold noodle, however it’s hot. I don’t think chilling tteokbokki would work so well – probably would make them tough. Regardless, this sounds interesting and I’m very interested. Let’s give it a try!
#4349: Paldo Stir-Fried Noodle With Spicy Soy Sauce – South Korea
This is an interesting one. While it says it is a stir-fried chicken flavor, below that it mentioned it has artificial chicken and beef flavor. I’m very curious – it sounds interesting. I’m excited as I’ll be reviewing some more Paldo stuff soon. Let’s check this one out – I think I found it at S*Mart in Bellevue, Washington.
#4348: Itomen Sauce Yakisoba – Japan
Here’s one I found in an Umai Crate from Japan Crate! They have boxes full of neat Japanese varieties! Check out www.japancrate.com and use the coupon code THERAMENRATER to score a sweet discount and get some neat noodles!
Cold As Ice: Frozen Ramen – Your Holiday Gift
Today is December 25th, 2022. I thought the perfect gift to all of you nice people that look at my reviews and experiments would be to add a lot of stuff to a plastic bowl and put it outside and let it freeze. So, that’s what I did. It is your holiday gift! For free! You are very welcome! Hope everyone seeing this is having a great holiday season and that it ends soon and that 2023 is lacking a lot of insanity that the previous year contained.

I know, I know – you’ve heard it before. TikTok especially – these ‘great ramen hacks. That’s all crap. What if I told you with a little oil and two eggs you could make the FINEST CHEAP INSTANT NOODLE RECIPE OF ALL TIME? You’re skeptical, I get that. But this bears trying. Plus, it’s very versatile.
