I’ve been waiting a while to have some things in first before trying this one. I wanted to have some seafood to add to it or something interesting. Well, I had two something interestings to add to it, so let’s check this one out!
Category: China
#677: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Shrimp Flavor
My sister was up in Canada at a big grocery store and found this for me! Shin Ramyun Shrimp Flavor! Never heard or seen it before – what a score! Let’s see how it goes with this one!
#657: Dragonfly Instant Noodles Onion Flavor
Another pack of Dragonfly brand noodles from China… Onion was great in a big bowl version – how will it be in a pack? Let’s see…
#653: Dragonfly Instant Noodles Artificial Pork Ribs Flavor
I thought today would be a nice day to have some pork ribs in noodle form! I wonder how it’ll be? I think it’ll pass the test as it’s yet another Dragonfly product. I know it’s wintertime and all but I think that Punksatawnee Phil’s Groundhog Day prediction was incorrect. He saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter. On the bright side, statistics show he’s been correct – 39% of the time.
#650: Dragonfly Instant Noodles Artificial Chicken Flavor
The last time I had Dragonfly brand noodles they were in a bowl and cooked by steeping. This time around it’s boiling in a pot. I remember how much I really enjoyed these Chinese noodles! Let’s see how they are in a pack.
Happy Momofuku Ando Day!!!
Well, today’s the day! The first Ramen Rater Momofuku Ando Day! I hope people out there are enjoying noodles today! Been a great day here – had some good noodles (which you’ll see shortly in the video) and was featured on the Seattle Weekly’s blog! Today I decided to review the closest thing I had to the 1958 Nissin Chikin noodles – the first instant noodles that were produced ever. I went with Nissin’s Top Ramen Chicken flavor; kind of the great grandchild of the Nissin Chikin! So sit back, relax, and check out the video. Happy Momofuku Ando Day!
#640: Master Kong Artificial Spicy Beef Flavor Instant Noodle
Sadly, this is last of the Master Kong varieties sent to me by Chad B. of Highland, Illinois – thanks again Chad – your stickers went out in the mail yesterday!
#634: Baijia Sichuan Hot Pot Flavor Instant Sweet Potato Thread
This one was sent by Michelle L. of New York! Unfortunately, for this one I have exceedingly low expectations. Every Baijia product I’ve tried has been just plain gross in my opinion.
#629: Master Kong Artificial Braised Beef Flavor Instant Noodle
Thanks again to Chad B. of Highland, Illinois for sending these Master Kong packs! Braised beef eh? Hmmm I wonder how this will be – if the Pork one was any indicator, I’m going to like this!
#584: Baijia Single Noble Black Bone Chicken Flavor Instant Sweet Potato Noodles
#580 Baijia Original Hot & Sour Flavor Casserole Stewed Rice Noodle
Baijia with rice noodles eh? Sounds different – hope it’s better than all the others I’ve tried!
#579: Baijia Sichuan Pickled Flavor Instant Sweet Potato Thread
Baijia has been a brand I loathe thus far. Let’s see what we have in this one.
Two packets – liquid base on left and powdered base on right.
#558: Long Kow’s Crystal Noodle Soup Vegetables ( and Eggs )
Thought this looked worth trying. Vegetables and noodles. Sure why not.
Here’s the flavoring packet if you want to call it that. It says Vegetables and Eggs though… I am truly unhappy – I didn’t take a picture of this and I’m really bummed and truly sorry. It looked like a brick of freeze-dried vegetable omelet. When I poured boiling water on it, it disintegrated and started fluffing up almost immediately.
#545: Golden Wheat Korean Style Spicy Beef Cooking Noodle
Here’s another one from Nathan up in Vancouver. First off, this one’s BIG. it calls for 700mL of water and to be cooked for 5-6 minutes! Aside from this stuff, there are some oddities I noticed that were kind of interesting.
#525: JML Instant Noodle Artificial Spicy Hot Beef Flavour
Here’s the last of the JML brand noodles from Greg B. of Florida. Looks like it will be hot and spicy!
#518: Dragonfly Artificial Chicken Flavor Instant Noodles
This is a big bowl of noodles from China. So far, I’ve tried Dragonfly’s Onion, Seafood and Beef flavors. I’m really happy with how nice those have been and eager to try this one!
#513: Dragonfly Artificial Onion Flavor Instant Noodles
I was kind of tripped out by this bowl of noodles: artificial onion? Why would they need to go the artificial route on this one? Well, why don’t I look at the ingredients. Oh look! Onion powder and onion oil. I’m confused… Anyways, here we go…
#507: Dragonfly Artificial Seafood Flavor Instant Noodles
Ah! Today it’s breakfast later than normal so breaking out the big bowl action! Seafood flavor sounded good and going to add a couple of eggs to it too.
#505: JML Artificial Spicy Beef Flavour Instant Noodle
Here’s another that Floridian Greg B. sent me a while back. Spicy beef, eh? Sounds good to me!
#499: Dragonfly Artificial Beef Flavor Instant Noodles
I was quite happy to see a few new big bowl style instant noodles when I was at an Asian grocery the other day, especially Dragonfly brand – I think I’ve only reviewed a single solitary Dragonfly instant noodle thus far. Now I think there’s at least four or five to do! Well, let’s start with this one. Beefalicious? Let’s hope so – I mean it IS the review before the big psychological number 500!
#491: JML Instant Noodle Artificial Stew Beef Flavour
Here’s another one that arrived in the east coast care package from Greg B. of Orlando, FL. This time its stew beef flavor – let’s go!
#489: JML Instant Noodle Artificial Stew Pork Flavour
So here’s the first one I’m reviewing that were sent by Greg B. of Orlando, FL. He says it’s really good stuff and so I’ll give it a shot!
Noodles & Correspondance From Afar
Ramen Rater reader Greg B. from Orlando, FL offered to send me some of his favorite noodles that he hadn’t seen me review before. I was really stoked to see this box!
#488: Kailo Brand Big Bowl Noodle Instant Noodle Crab Flavor
So here’s another one of these big bowls! Crab flavor sounds nice!
Again three packets of seasoning – clockwise from top: veggies, seasoned oil and dry powder seasoning.
#487: Kailo Brand Big Bowl Noodle Instant Noodle Artificial Chicken Flavour
Here’s a new brand – Kailo! This is a big bowl of noodles too – and what an odd image on the front. But hey, how can chicken be fouled (it’s already been fowled HAHAHAHAHA – bad I know but I’m full of noodles now) it’s such a basic flavor. So here we go! UPDATE – This stuff is actually ABALONE CHICKEN – that explains a lot.
#486: Kamfen Japanese U-Don Noodles Lobster & Scallop Soup Flavor
So here’s the first Kamfen fresh udon I’ve tried. So something new for today!
#481: Thai Kitchen Roasted Garlic Rice Noodle Bowl
So I noticed that the previous review of the Mushroom flavor was a rice noodle soup bowl as opposed to a rice noodle bowl. Interesting. Anyways, here’s another Thai Kitchen bowl.
#480: Thai Kitchen Mushroom Rice Noodle Soup Bowl
Tried the Spring Onion last week and thought it was good so thought I ought to see if I can find more of these. Sure enough, found a couple at Safeway.
#471: Koyo Lemongrass Ginger Ramen Made With Organic Noodles
The first thing I noticed about this one was that it was expired. I got these at The Market At Anacortes on July 4th or 5th this year. I’m sure they’re still fine but jeez! Lenmongrass ginger… I like ginger that’s for sure. Wondering about lemongrass though – I guess we’ll see…
#455: Baijia Single Noble Pickled Radish And Duck Flavor Instant Sweet Potato Noodle ( Cup )
Baijia. Probably the single brand with the lowest consecutive ratings I’ve given. But lo and behold, I continue reviewing them – I believe that at some point there will be something awesome from them! Perhaps this pickled radish and duck flavored sweet potato noodle cup will be the holy grail? We shall see…
#454: Koyo Asian Vegetable Ramen Made With Organic Noodles
During my vacation I found quite a few of these at ‘The Market At Anacortes.’ I’ve reviewed one in the past and been interested in doing the rest. Here’s some of them – Asian Vegetable flavor. Here we go…
#446: Sau Tao Wonton Soup Flavored Hong Kong Style Instant Noodle King
Once again, here we go – back from vacation and back to instant noodle reviewing! First we have some Sau Tao brand Wonton flavored noodles. Always seems to be in a cup… They’re going to be extremely good I hope.
#428: Kamfen E-Men Noodles Artificial Chicken Soup Flavor
So this is something different – E-Men noodles. The ingredients say they’re mad of wheat flour and soybean oil…
#402: Sau Tao (Thick) Instant Noodle King Scallop Soup Flavor
I think this is the last of the Sau Tao’s I have for reviewing at this point. This one’s Scallop flavor with thick noodles. Again, these noodles aren’t fried. If you notice to the upper right of center, you are being informed that ‘Health is important.’ Looks like 4g fat and 7.5g fiber – not too bad actually.
#325: Namchow Mee-Jang Artificial Pork Flavor Instant Noodles
So some noodles from Thailand. I have no idea what to expect from this one… Let’s see what’s inside…
#322: Unif Shrimp Fish Flavor Instant Noodles
So here’s some Unif Shrimp Fish… What’s funny is that I have had the Super Bowl’s lately and they looked exactly the same as this, but this one doesn’t say Super Bowl on it so go figure.
#318: Unif Super Bowl Instant Noodles Artificial Pickled Chilli Beef Flavor
So this is the third and final Super Bow. I do have a couple more of the Unif brand ones I think so those will be next! Anyways, here we go with Artificial Pickled Chilli Beef flavor!
#316: Unif Super Bowl Instant Noodles Artificial Stewed Pork Chop Flavor
Jeez these things are big enough… I wasn’t able to finish the last one! So here e go with some stewed pork chop! Interesting – don’t those meat cuts on the label look like ribs? I’m just sayin’…
#315: Unif Super Bowl Instant Noodle Artificial Spicy Beef Flavor
So here’s a big sucka. Got about ten different ones to try here. This should be interesting stuff. First off, spicy beef!
#301: Dragonfly Guilin Style Flavor Guilin Rice Vermicelli Bún Quế Lâm
So three hundred reviews behind this and onward we go! So here’s a brand I’ve never seen before. A lot of funny stuff on this package – shrimp flavor, bad English… But proof is in the eating right?
