Welcome to Show Your Noodles #21: The Momofuku Ando Day Edition! It’s been a couple of months since I’ve done a Show Your Noodles, mainly because I haven’t received any submissions. Well, recently people have been sending in quite a few and I thought today would be a good day to try it again. As always if you would like to participate in show Your Noodles #22, all you need to do is email a photo of anything you’ve made with instant noodles (a new recipe or a sculpture; really – go wild with it) with your first name, last initial, general location and a description of your noodles to hans@theramenrater.com. A couple of weeks ago I was looking for articles to add to The Ramen Rater Noodle News and found an article with a YouTube video attached. Apparently, a recent college graduate had made something that involves cooking instant noodles and it would start selling at Walmart. I thought I’d see if I could contact the guy and get a sample of the product to review. Well, he sent a couple and here we go! Chris Johnson is the inventor of the Rapid Ramen Cooker. Got this mailer today from the mailman…

This is a new product I found out about from a news story (link). I thought ‘wow this is awesome!’ After looking, I found the guy who invented and is marketing the product, Chris Johnson. Today I got a big box in the mail from Nongshim America! Wonder what’s inside…

Bowl Noodles! But wait – Chapagetti in a bowl? Yep! This is one of the things I got to try while at Nongshim America in May. Not only did I get to try these new bowl products in their R&D department but was able to watch them being made – from raw ingredients to wrapped bowl all in an efficient straight line. Twas amazing! 1. Batchelor’s Super Noodles: Bacon Flavour

We have the British to thank for these bacon instant noodles. Pair ’em with eggs and toast and t’s actually pretty great stuff. But, you should know, the rest of the day your burps will taste like bacon. A couple of days ago, I received an email from a man who was angry. He was angry that the instant noodles he bought said that they were spicy Chicken flavor but weren’t spicy whatsoever and that I needed to change the seasonings ASAP. Every once in a while, I get a comment or email from someone who thinks that I make instant noodles or am affiliated with an instant noodle company. I decided to reply and do a review of the product he had problems with, adding some hot spices, sauces and peppers from around the world to really heat it up. It then occurred to me that a lot of people really like spicy instant noodles and that there’s really no list of the hottest ones out there. My Mom’s Custom Breakfast Ramen From When I Was A Kid

I have very fond memories of what my mom used to make for me to eat during my childhood. She used to make me Totino’s Party Pizzas for breakfast, (I had one a couple days ago and noticed that either they’ve gotten a lot smaller or I’ve gotten a whole lot bigger). She used to make the wonder of wonders, turkey spread as well, which consisted of mayonnaise, sweet pickles, leftover Thanksgiving and a Cusinart – I would have that and some more mayo on crackers and it was divine.
