This is a fancy one from Japan sent by the kind folks at MBS Planning! Thank you! From what I could translate and infer, this is a special, premium pack of noodles. Let’s check it out.

#1048: Ottogi Cheese Bokki
Here one that came from Korea by way of Kristen W. of Arizona! Thank you so much! I’ve wanted to review this one for a long time! Let’s check this unique variety out.
#1047: New Touch Yakisoba Noodle
Another one from my March birthday trip to Canada. I tried to translate this one but no luck – the name I got from the distributor’s sticker, so if anyone knows for sure this is the wrong name, please let me know. Let’s check it out!
#1046: Myojo Stir Fry Noodles Japanese Style Noodles With Sauce
Found this one at Uwajimaya in Bellevue and thought it was worth a try. I do like Worcestershire sauce!
#1044: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Noodle Spicy Mushroom Flavour
Another from my trip to Canada for my birthday. Wow – what a past two days here! The Top Ten 2013 list came out to a clamor of Taiwanese disapproval – Taiwan didn’t make the list. But, hopefully out of it all I’ll get contacted by one of the companies in Taiwan, but so far nothing. On to other things though – that being this interesting bowl by Nongshim. This one’s made in Shanghai, China. Let’s check it out.
#1041: Ko-Lee Instant Noodles Super Chow Mein Flavour
One of the last that Joe & Gil from the UK sent a while back – thanks again! I like chow mein, but what’s ‘super’ chow mein? Let’s see!
#1032: MAMA Authentic Thai Cuisine Pad Thai
I reviewed the instant in a smaller pack quite a while ago. It’s got a few seasoning packets and this one only has one big packet. Definitely not instant as the instructions ask for an interesting preparation method. Let’s dig in!
Thank You Package From Japanese TV Show ‘God Of Patena’
I was on Japanese TV at the end of February! The folks there were very kind to send some ramen from Japan!
Meet The Manufacturer: #1025: Samyang Foods Hot Chacharoni
Okay so what’s Hot Chacharoni? Well, its a form of jjajangmyeon. What’s jjajangmyeon? Wheat noodles with a black bean sauce! Pretty much every South Korean instant noodle company has their own take on the popular dish, but this is the only one that I’m aware of that is spicy! Let’s check it out.
Meet The Manufacturer: #1024: HoMyeonDang Premium Noodle House Tofu Fried Noodle
Here’s another of the HoMyeonDang private label varieties. This is a stir noodle – drain the noodles after cooking and add the sauce and stir. Let’s check it out.
Meet The Manufacturer: #1019: Samyang Foods Kimchi Ramyun
Kimchi! I love kimchi – not only is it hot and spicy and crunchy and awesome, it’s purported to be one of the healthiest foods out there. My favorite comes from a store in my area called KS Mart. They make it in the store and it doesn’t taste at all like the varieties that are branded. I’ve tried to get some people I know to try it, but they think it smells bad and are terrified by it; I just don’t understand. Anyways, here’s kimchi ramyun by Samyang Foods. I think the smiling onion and cabbage say it all – but what I wonder; is the onion planning on eating the cabbage with the chopsticks?
Chapaguri: A Popular New Recipe In South Korea!
I’ve heard of recipes people make where they combine two different types of instant noodles to make something new. Well, here’s one from South Korea that is very popular right now! Chapaguri! 짜파구리 !
#1015: Tradition Oriental Style Ramen Noodle Soup
It’s amazing; can go to a supermarket nearby and find something new! This one’s a Kosher instant from Tradition. It also looks to be vegetarian. I was asked if I could mention if an instant contained meat products or not, so I think I’ll be doing that.
#1014: Nissin King Spa Oh Peperoncino Spaghetti (日清生タイプSpa王 ペペロンチーノ)
Here’s one from Nissin Japan. Not a lot of English on this package so I had to do some research. What I found is that this is part of a series of spaghetti instant noodles. You add boiling water to the noodles and veg and let steep for one minute, then drain and add the oil and dry powder packet contents. Let’s give it a try!
#1009: Western Family Instant Noodles In A Cup Oriental
Here’s another that we got in Canada on my birthday. Here in the area I live, Western Family is a store brand, but never have I seen an instant noodle of theirs. Honestly, I haven’t seen any store brand instants here – not that they don’t exist. Well, let’s check out these noodles in a cup!
#1008: Ottogi Sesame Flavor Noodle Bowl
Found this one up the road at KS Mart in Lynnwood, Washington. Looks really interesting – an egg block huh? I imagine it will be like a seasoning block or something… Funny; I had a sesame one yesterday too. Well, on with the sesame flavored noodles!
#1007: Nissin Demae Ramen Sesame Oil Flavour Noodles With Soup Base
Here’s another one we got in Canada on my birthday! I was surprised to see a Demae Ramen bowl – always nice to see something new on the shelf! This one’s from Hong Kong. Let’s check it out.
#999: Pot Noodle Tony’s Doner Kebab
Wow – here we are; this is the precipice of a very large psychological number! First things first – thanks to Joe & Gil of the UK for sending such a nice mix of interesting noodles! Okay so this is a Pot Noodle – they’re always interesting as the British seem to come up with some really interesting flavors to lend to instant noodles and this is definitely one of them. Doner Kebab. So, what is a Doner Kebab? Well, click here for the seriously huge amount of info from Wikipedia,. Basically what they’re saying is that you have a meat that’s roasted on a vertical spit and then sliced thin and garnished with tomato, lettuce, onion and other things. At least that’s what I’m getting from it. The packaging mentions this is lamb flavor, but beef is also common (and what I’ll use as a garnish).
#997: Sakurai Foods Miso Stew Instant Udon (Winter)
Here’s one that was kindly sent by Mika over at Sakurai Foods in Japan – thank you! In Japan where ramen is a way of life, there are varieties which are seasonal and this is one of them. This is a winter varietal miso stew. I imagine the winter versions are more ‘stick to your ribsy’ and the summer ones (like one I saw on the Sakurai Foods site) are cold noodles. Awesome! Well, let’s get started.
Re-Review: Nongshim Potato Noodle Soup
I’ve been wanting to re-review this one for a while, and so here we are. Potato noodles! Chewy! Let’s check it out.

Meet The Manufacturer: #991: Prima Taste Singapore Curry La Mian
Curry. For me, it’s up there with bacon, pizza, fried chicken and dim sum. Curry has this flavor that has always enthralled me and can be prepared in so many different ways. Here we have Prima Taste’s take on curry with their Curry La Mian.
#990: Nissin Pan Asian Kitchen Spicy Pad Thai Flavor Ramen Noodles
Found this one while strolling through our new Walmart Neighborhood Market just north of here. It’s kind of like you take a Walmart, make it a Super Walmart and then ditch the Walmart part so it’s just groceries. Found this is the Asian foods section and not with the Top Ramen and Cup Noodle. Kind of weird.
#988: Amino Kuchnia Polska Ogorkowa
‘
Here’s another great one sent by Gil & Joe of the UK! This is a Polish variety. What’s Ogorkowa mean? Simple – cucumber soup. I looked around online and found lots of recipes, some using dill pickles and mentioning that pregnant Polish women favored this soup. Well, let’s check it out!

Here’s another one that I was sent from Australia! Singapore soft noodles – never heard of such a thing.

Well, this is the last of the sun Noodle Meet The Manufacturer samples to review. Some really tasty stuff has been tried – I bid them a very fond farewell. We finally arrive here at Shoyu.
#983: Meet The Manufacturer – Sun Noodle Tantanmen Spicy Sesame Flavor Ramen (Mild)
Winding down the Sun Noodle Meet The Manufacturer with the next to last review. I must say there have been some really good ones in this bunch! Here’s something I’ve not tried previously – Tantanmen. Tantanmen as described by Wikipedia:

#977: Meet The Manufacturer – Sun Noodle Yakisoba Japanese Style Stir Fry Noodles With Powdered Sauce
Here’s the first review of the Sun Noodle Meet The Manufacturer spotlight, their Yakisoba. Yakisoba is one of my favorite Japanese noodle dishes. What’s nice is that the flavoring contains one of my favorite flavors – Worcestershire sauce!

#965: Meet The Manufacturer: Annie Chun’s Noodle Express Chinese Chow Mein
Here’s the first of nine reviews I’ll be doing of Annie Chun’s products. I’ve only had a couple of these before and those were quite a while back. This one looks interesting – and it only takes a minute in the microwave?! That’s really fast!
Momofuku Ando Day! #964: Nissin Raoh Backfat Rich Soy Sauce Flavor
#961: Trident Chow Mein Soft Noodles
Here’s one of the packs that came from Australia! Thanks go to Melanie I. of Jannali, NSW for sending these and also thanks to Mark K. for getting her to do it! The last one was a ‘2 Minute Noodle’ while this one says they’re soft noodles. I wonder what the difference is?
