I found some info online about this one and had to use Google translation –

● Miso-tonkotsu ramen where you can feel the taste in the hotness, which is made by adding the spicy taste with the chili pepper and soya bean paste to the pork broth, and the richness with the miso and the flower bud.  ● The soup is based on a hot pepper base with chili pepper and comes out with 2 kinds of rice miso and neri sesame seeds, and it has an exquisite and deep taste with the addition of the flavor of fish and the smell of florets.  ● Excellent compatibility with soup and straight non-fried noodles.  ● For hot taste, I blended several spices and seasonings, and I was particular about not only the hotness but also the quality of hotness.  -It is a tonkotsu ramen that is unbearable for those who really like hot things.  ● Please note that this is a very hard ramen. ...see full post

The simplicity of this bowl of ramen is just right and irresistible. You can taste the kikurage (wood ear mushroom) as one of the toppings. Kikurage is low in fat and calories but rich in protein and other nutrients and is a particularly good source of the B vitamins, too. The tonkotsu broth is excellent – can you taste the umami from the dried sardine? There are two chashu pork slices on top to satisfy your mouth!’ ...see full post

#3237: Samyang Cheese Ramen – South Korea

#3237: Samyang Cheese Ramen - South Korea

I’ve mentioned a few times recently how much I’ve really been into Samyang Ramen in the last year or so. It’s really quite good – has a ham flavor, nice level of spiciness. It’s just got a good all around comfort food thing going on. Well, here’s the same thing – but now it’s got a cheese component. I’ll admit it – I like cheese. There. That feels better. Load off my mind. I usually add cheese to South Korean ramen, so let’s see how this one with a cheese component included goes. ...see full post

#3184: Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup Pork Flavor – United States

#3184: Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup Pork Flavor - United States

I thought hey I’ve got this other one – I should review it too. So here we are. It’s funny how there are two crowds; one that likes this brand and one that likes the other economy class instant here in the United States. They’ve both got their strengths, and the one with Maruchan I would say is the variety of flavors in their Ramen Noodle Soup range. There’s a ton of them – many of which are kind of hard to find. This is one I haven’t seen often. I think the first time I had this was back in early 2010 – yep that link is good old review #66. Looks like I re-reviewed it the next year. ...see full post

Meet The Manufacturer: #3033: TTL Bolognese Red Wine Sauce Instant Noodle – Taiwan

Meet The Manufacturer: #3035: TTL Bolognese Red Wine Sauce Instant Noodle - Taiwan

Today, we have a traditional Italian variety – from Taiwan? Yup – Italian noodles from Taiwan! Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about bolognese –

Bolognese sauce (UK/ˌbɒləˈnzˈnɛz/US/ˌblənˈjz/;[1] known in Italian as ragù alla bolognesepronounced [raˈɡu alla boloɲˈɲeːze; -eːse]ragù bolognese, or simply ragù) is a meat-based sauce originating from Bologna, Italy, hence the name. In Italian cuisine, it is customarily used to dress tagliatelle al ragù and to prepare lasagne alla bolognese. In the absence of tagliatelle, it can also be used with other broad, flat pasta shapes, such as pappardelle or fettuccine. Genuine ragù alla bolognese is a slowly cooked sauce, and its preparation involves several techniques, including sweatingsautéing and braising. Ingredients include a characteristic soffrittoof onion, celery and carrot, different types of minced or finely chopped beef, often alongside small amounts of fatty pork. White wine, milk, and a small amount of tomato concentrate or tomatoes are added, and the dish is then gently simmered at length to produce a thick sauce. ...see full post
