Whoa what’s this?
Okay I cam read that. I figured I should pick out an orange one of some kind for Halloween…
Hey! Some more noodles I got from Cindy C. of Middlesex, UK! Thanks again! So this one’s Chinese Chow Mein. It’s also promising the possibility of currency inside the packet!
Here’s a bit of a mystery sent to me by Nathan in Canada. So what’s this one? Well, the little icon up top gave it away as a Samyang variety, but all I can say is it’s 60 Ingredients. Let’s try it, and if you can read the cup and it’s called something more, please let me know in a comment!
Here we go with another of the Super Bihun products – Bihun Kuah Rasa Baso Sapi. Wow – what a name! From having Indomie products many times, I was able to figure out this is meatball flavor. Also, it’s got the little bomb logo on the top left! Awesome!
Hey this looks shmancy! Nothing better than an interesting new pack of noodles from Indonesia.
Wow – what an inviting variety! Wheat gluten stewed duck flavored!
So this is a big bowl of the Little Cook stuff – Namchow makes it. These are always interesting.
Here’s some more kosher aisle ramen. This stuff was previously purchased but never reviewed. Why?
Haven’t had a fresh noodle bowl in a while. This one comes from Shirakiku and claims to be a hot one. It definitely looks nice on the packaging. I’m still under the weather so the spicy stuff helps with the sinuses!
I woke up with a sore throat, runny nose, sore joints and a bit of sneezing. I’m sick. This sucks. I thought maybe some miso would bring me back from the brink. I guess we’ll see how it goes…
Today there was an open six pack of these so I decided even with a zillion ramens I’d get this one to try. Oolongmen!
Yes, that’s right – it’s pizza flavored noodles. More interesting? They’re from Pakistan! So here’s yet another show of force in international fusion cuisine! Pizza is Italian, ramen noodles are a Japanese thing, and Pakistan is, well, another country! Well, let’s dig in!
9/28/2024 – Update – Back on September 9th, 2011, I published this post – it was an early time in my reviewing – many things have changed since then; I used to use a phone to take pictures of products – I think it was a Blackberry Curve at the time. As I’m only a handful of reviews to #5000, it’s really weird to look at this compared to how I present reviews now. Anyways, there’s a video at the bottom I made at the time.
Got this one at Walmart. Was pretty sure I hadn’t tried it and was right so here goes.
Something from a brand I’ve never seen before. This is a Korean fresh noodle and I’m hoping it’s good and spicy!
Never seen this before – I also got a chicken variety as well I’ll review a bit down the road. I like the name – Phoya… Maybe there could be a froyo and pho place called PhoYo? Ya!
Here’s a new brand – Kailo! This is a big bowl of noodles too – and what an odd image on the front. But hey, how can chicken be fouled (it’s already been fowled HAHAHAHAHA – bad I know but I’m full of noodles now) it’s such a basic flavor. So here we go! UPDATE – This stuff is actually ABALONE CHICKEN – that explains a lot.
So here’s the first Kamfen fresh udon I’ve tried. So something new for today!
Sounds like a pretty standard cup noodle. Thing is is that it’s Korean, so this kind of spicy is different than most spicy stuff.
One of four packs I got at a Big Lots store. Pretty cheap too.
Two packets – powdered seasoning and ‘dried flake’ – veggies.
Some beef tonight. This is beef noodle soup – pho bo. Artificial beef though… Shall we?
I thought I’d tried all of these but it appears I was wrong. So here’s yet another Souper Meal – Nissin’s answer to America’s need for another ‘Hungry Man’ style food product.
Here’s yet another variety of Ottogi’s Ppushu Ppushu super powered smash snack. This one’s barbecue flavor – wonder how this one will be…
So here’s one I got from Ramen Rater contributor Michael M. from Staten Island, NY. He said he found some of these down the aisle with kosher foods at his grocery store. Well, let’s give it a try!
So I thought I’d tried every single variety of these but I found yet another in California! This is just chicken – not spicy chicken. So here we go with the noodling!
Once again, here we go – back from vacation and back to instant noodle reviewing! First we have some Sau Tao brand Wonton flavored noodles. Always seems to be in a cup… They’re going to be extremely good I hope.
So anyone who’s seen the top ten list of my all time favorite noodles knows that Sapporo Ichiban’s Chow Mein is up there. I had a fresh noodle – Souper Brand – that was a chow mein variety and liked it very much. This is a Taiwanese version – curious what the difference will be.
So here’s some Instant Lunch. Haven’t done one of these in a while and I’m sure that there’s a ton of them I need to do still. So hot & spicy beef – let’s give ‘er a try.
So the idea of a seafood noodle soup with fake seafood has been kind of daunting for the past couple months. However, today was the day. I must fear no ramen! So, here we have some seafood tom yum from Thailand.
So here’s one of the noodles I reviewed during my interview with Rachel Belle at KIRO 97.3FM. I didn’t take a lot of pictures at all, but here’s a video of the making and eating of this one- it’s ghe larger of the two being tested.
I’ve reviewed a ton of the Unif noodles, but it’s been quite a while. Here’s a Unif rice noodle – Chinese onion.
So here’s another of the Vifon Tứ Quý packs I got on my birthday. Chicken eh? Sounds basic… Hmmm.
So here’s another of these nice Myojo varieties. A little more spendy at $2.49, but really some nice stuff.
So I’ve been quite a fan of Doll’s varieties – they’ve always proven to be quite nice. So here’s their beef variety.
So here’s the second of the Gomex noodles. I’ve never seen them other than the two I’ve rated – pretty interesting. They’re from Vietnam and sound interesting, so let’s give em’ a try…
So this looks kind of interesting. Hmmm… I should make a list of the Maruchan Instant Lunches I’ve ingested and then I can go to the store and get all the ones I have not and then bam bam bam… Cheap noodle week!
I think this is the last of the Sau Tao’s I have for reviewing at this point. This one’s Scallop flavor with thick noodles. Again, these noodles aren’t fried. If you notice to the upper right of center, you are being informed that ‘Health is important.’ Looks like 4g fat and 7.5g fiber – not too bad actually.
Something new – a cup noodle from the Philippines!
Two packets – dry seasoning on the left and a seasoned oil on the right.
I thought this looked interesting. I don’t usually see any kind of ‘mild’ flavors coming out of Korea, but here you see one. Here we go!
So here’s one that came down from Canada but I wager it’s available at most good sized Asian groceries around here.
So been really curious how this one’d pan out. I’ve tried mac and cheese-esque noodles before, but never in a cup…
