Sanyo Foods Corp Of America sent two boxes of their Sapporo Ichiban products. In fact, these two boxes contain each and every variety that they produce here in the United States. I like it when I can do a Meet The Manufacturer series and sample each and every variety that they make. Let’s look in this, the second box.
Was really happy to get samples directly from Sanyo Foods Corp Of America for this Meet The Manufacturer series. As I said previously, one of my goals has been to do Meet The Manufacturer series with all the instant noodle companies in the United States. Let’s see what’s inside!
You’re probably thinking ‘dang dude, you sure get a lot of samples coming from Taiwan.’ Well, you’re right! The competition in Taiwan is extremely fierce, and people know who I am there, so it makes sense. This box has some tape from TATLTOB, aka ‘the agency that likes to open boxes that aren’t theirs.’ Hopefully all is intact! Let’s find out!

Here’s a box that came from Taiwan recently. Taihodien restaurant is well known for their spicy hot pot and lo and behold, they’ve come out with a dry noodle! Let’s crack this box open and have a look inside and check things out.
During my trip in November 2017 to Taiwan, I met some folks at a booth that had a slew of different noodle varieties. They knew who I was and were keen on me giving their products a try. They wanted to hand me samples but I couldn’t – my luggage was full and so I recommended a Meet The Manufacturer series – and here we are.
Was contacted recently about a new product called Simply Shredz. Basically, it’s marinated and shredded pork that you can put on just about everything! Well, probably not breakfast cereal… But your could put it on congee! Anyways, let’s open it up and give it a little test run!

five years ago, there was a big kerfuffle involving myself and the entire island of Taiwan. They weren’t on the Top Ten 2013 Edition and they were angry – to put it mildly. I decided that a little noodle diplomacy was the ticket here and so put out a call for Taiwanese companies to contact me, send me samples and see how it goes. A-Sha was the first company to come calling and since then they’ve kept me updated on their new offerings – let’s have a look at their new Guanmiao noodle!
I got this box the other day and I honestly expected it to be samples for an upcoming Taiwanese Meet The Manufacturer. Well, as it turns out these were samples I didn’t know were coming or what they were! Have a look at this video to see what’s going on here!

A box arrived from Taiwan. These are product samples from Mr. Noodles – a company I met at the Taiwan International Food Show in November 2017. They offered to give me samples then and there, but I had to decline as my luggage was already packed with noodles.
This box arrived by way of my buddy the DHL driver. So I initially thought they were something else and started the video – then I see it’s not so if it seems like I’m a little funny in this one, it’s sheer embarrassment because of that… I had to improvise because I’d opened it – so watch for that. Okay – let’s crack it open!
Got this package the other day – and I didn’t expect it. Well, I WAS expecting it, however both I and Prima Taste thought that it probably had been seized by customs. The tracking was going great then it hit Oakland, California and then Import Delay. It stuck that way for over a week – and then started moving again! What’s more, they never opened the package. Got word of the fourth variety of Red Chef’s range was going to be coming my way and so was really excited to try. This time, FedEx guy just left it at the door without making me sign for it. Kind of funny how it works – sometimes they want a signature, sometimes they dont. Sometimes they bring it to the door, others they get brought to the apartment office. Well, let’s crack it open!
It’s usually the same thing every time – a knock at the door and a semi-confused looking guy handing me a package.
