A very very hot sauce - especially if you accidentally get it into your eyes! Has some seriously fresh tasting habanero - other ingredients include vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder and salt. Some serious bang for your buck! | / 0g | 07/13/2005 |

Horseradish Hot Sauce [ Website ] |

Not too bad - does taste like horseradish. However, it's so salty and vinegary that it's hard to distinguish it. | / 0g | 09.20.2004 |

One of the better chipotle sauces I've had - I like the balance with the roasted garlic. Made by Original Juan. | / 0g | 07/13/2005 |
Wasabi Hot Sauce [ Website ] |
|
An interesting sauce - not
very hot, but pretty tasty stuff. Definitely wasabi flavor but also
a lot of sesame oil makes it a little strange for me - looks like this
would be great for marinating chicken.

I really like this stuff - has a lot of sweetness to begin with and then a nice burn to finish. Has honey, mango and habaneros. | / 1g | 10.29.2004 |

My good friend Zak Tripper got me this bottle at the www.sanjuanhotshop.com store in Friday Harbor, Washington. I figured since it's a novelty sauce, it would taste pretty salty and boring - which it does. The ingredients, starting with habanero and carrots got me thinking it might be a little different, but unfortunately no. Very strange listening to CNN right now and tasting Bin Laden hot sauce right now; 4 days till the big election! | / 0g | 10.29.2004 |

Well, I was extremely disappointed in this sauce. Been using the Bone Suckin' Rib Rub on pork shoulder roasts for a while now and found it to be really exemplary, but this sauce is pretty nasty. It starts with a nice bit of sweetness and then goes right downhill. The sweetness disappears into a strangely fiery flavor, kind of like Pure Cap hot sauce. | / 3g | 10.18.2004 |

Tried it with some breakfast links - it's almost like a hot worcesshire kind of sauce but different. Quite a decent bite but not overdone and a great aftertaste. This will replace my old favorite for steaks! Has Cayenne, Asian and Habanero Chiles - mixed VERY well! | / 1g | 04.21.2004 |

Really nice to see a decent heated hot sauce without a little plastic 'oh don't use too mcuh' cap on it. Tried this stuff with a quesadilla - kept my mouth burning for a good half hour! Very nice! Has Red Savina peppers, onion, garlic, black pepper and Chile Caribe - not sure what that one is. | / 1g | 04.21.2004 |

Haven't tried this one yet - looks like it'll be a good hot one! Has Red Savina peppers. Mentions the Guinness Book of World Records on the bottle and yesterday, 4/20/2004, Norris McWhirter died - he was the founder of the book. | NOT RATED / 1g | 04.21.2004 |

This is a very interesting chipotle - a lot of really good smoky flavor. Nice and chunky and has a very fresh taste. The combo of habanero and chipotle balances nicely, as do the other flavors of garlic and chives. | / 0g | 10.18.2004 |

Looked at first like a standard run-of-the-mill sauce, but its' a little different. Not as overwhelming of a viegar taste, and has some thickness to it - not too thick, just a bit of it. It says on the label that it goes quite well with seafood - now I want to try it on some fish! | / 0g | 10.18.2004 |

This one's not my favorite in the world. As I have put before, I'm a little cowardly when it comes to super hot sauces. This one is quite salty and has way too much heat for me. Stepping away from my personal tastes and looking at it from a standpoint of quality however, this one's pretty damn good - looks like a ton of habanero mash and some spices - If you enjoy the really hot stuff, give this one a try! | / 2g | 10.18.2004 |

I doused this stuff over a burrito and really really liked it - it's made with cayenne and jalapeno peppers which I thought was kind of cool. Also has sugar as an ingredient - the sauce is nice and well-rounded. | / 0g | 07.13.2005 |

This one's pretty unique. The bottles reads: 'sweetest of the dried chiles. Mild fruit flavor with tones of coffee, liquorice, tobacco, dried plum and raisin with a little woodsiness.' I'd say that's pretty accurate - and it does produce a slight bit of heat as well. | / ?g | |

No-Sally Hot Sauce [ ? ] |

This was sent to me from a guy named Fataliiman - he made it himself. The stuff's got quite a sting to it and a real fresh flavor - as you can see by his website, he's an avid chile farmer, hence the fresh flavor. The sauce has a bit of a sweet, then citrussy-acidic, and then the burn. This is homemade stuff and ya can't buy it in stores. He also sent me a nice batch of pepper seeds, chili powders, dried peppers, and venison jerky! Thanks Fataliiman - really appreciate it and your sauce is great! | / ?g | 04.04.2005 |

A very sweet hot sauce - full of jalapenos, lime juice and corn syrup. www.sanjuanhotshop.com recommends using it on halibut on the barbecue in the last few minutes - sounds like a good plan to me! | / 0g | 10.29.2004 |
Hot Lime Green [ Website ] |

The way I usually sample new sauces is to open it up and take a swig. This one's a little different from many I've had - the ingredients are Key Lime juice, salt and habanero peppers. www.sanjuanhotshop.com recommends trying it on Thai food or putting it in guacamole - I wholeheartedly agree with Thai food - would add a nice zest to Mee Crob or Pad Thai. However by itself, it's a really strange thing to taste. | / 0g | 10.29.2004 |

Jalapeno [ Website ] |
|
Got some seriously mixed feelings about this one. As far as a jalapeno hot sauce goes, it's really quite good - have tried it on eggs and thoroughly enjoyed it. Got it from the makers at the Anacortes Arts Festival earlier this month. My main concern is the fact that the label has pictures of garlic on it. I bought it, believing that it was a garlic AND jalapeno hot sauce. Unfortunately, there's nothing about garlic in the ingredients. A good sauce; just don't be misled - ALWAYS pays to read the ingredients! | / 3g |

This stuff is a little funky
- it is made from chocolate habanero peppers. Chocolate habaneros
don't taste like chocolate; its the color of the pepper which gives them
their name. I don't like this one much - has almond extract in it
too. Kind of weird.
