A lot of companies celebrating anniversaries lately. I’ve done a special Definitive Guide on Indomie Mi Goreng, and you can find scads of info in there. Happy birthday, Indomie.
MAMA 50th Anniversary Varieties
When I saw these came out, I emailed my contact at Thai President Foods about them. I have been planning to do a special definitive guide to their tom yum. I honestly thought that was what was in here, but nope! Oops! But hey – these are super special and I can’t wait to give them a try! What was really nice is when I mentioned it, they said that they would send some of the tom yum people buy over there for the definitive guide! Thank you! You’ll see that unboxing sometime soon, but for now, let’s check out these special varieties!

Nissin Cup Noodles Bread #ramenbread #UseYourNoodleContest
I did say my last loaf of bread would be the last for a while, but then I saw that Nissin Foods was doing a contest (#USEYOURNOODLECONTEST) having to do with innovation for their 50th Anniversary of the introduction of Cup Noodles. I really like making bread from instant noodles; some of you might think I’m a little off my rocker, but it’s fun, completely different from what I’ve been doing, and it’s really neat to put a bunch of things together and have something come out nicely. Whether I win the contest or not (it would be nice to win), I’m happy with what I did here. Let’s check it out =- I used one noodle block and the seasoning from 10 Cup Noodles Chicken flavor! Let’s go!
#3945: Nissin 50th Anniversary Top Ramen Chicken Ramen Noodle Soup – United States
I’ve of course reviewed Top Ramen chicken flavor before. However, this is a special release version for their 50th Anniversary. Since 1971, Nissin’s been churning out Top Ramen – and I really appreciate that. The first variety I tried was a Nissin product, which is fitting since they were the makers of the first instant noodle in 1958. Let’s pay tribute and required honor to this, the noodle that introduced the United States to instant noodles.
12,000 SHU Buldak Mini Limited Edition Fire Noodles!
So a happy birthday is in order for Samyang’s Buldak Bokeummyun range. They started 7 years ago with the first variety. What’s more, the birthday of their mascot Hochi is on April 13th – same as my wife’s! Pretty rad. So Let’s unbox this one and we’ll have a look at it up close and personal on Saturday!
Big News For Mr & Mrs The Ramen Rater
Today’s a special day for us – five years ago today, we first talked to each other. We were both getting through the murky end of horrible relationships and found each other on an online dating website. She lived to far away – me in northern Washington, she in Northern California. That night we spoke on the phone for a whole 6 hours and all I wanted to do was to talk to her again. It was amazing; we found each other right when we most needed each other. Five years later, I’d like to announce that we’re expecting our first child together! We found out two weeks ago! We’re very excited and can’t wait to start this new adventure. To my wife – I love you and am supremely happy knowing you are in my life everyday. Happy Holidays to all!
#1136: Nissin Yakisoba
Here’s another one from T&T Supermarket up in Canada. From my research, I found that this product was first introduced in 1963. The little medal on the mid-right is about this – it’s the 50th anniversary of Nissin Yakisoba this year! Let’s check this one out!
New Year’s Package From Nissin Foods USA
Got an email telling me a package had arrived last week. It was from Scott A. over at Nissin Foods USA! Wonder what is inside…
#611: Batchelors Super Noodles Low Fat Sweet Thai Chili Flavour
This is the last of the Super Noodles sent by Cindy C. of England. Thanks again!
So today is my wife and I’s second anniversary. No, not a wedding anniversary – we got married in July. This is our two year ‘Click-I-Versary.” You see, we met on an online dating website! Two years ago today she clicked a button on my profile and let me know she liked me. I did the same. The chatted online for a little bit and then called and talked to each other for many hours – the rest is history! I can honestly say I’ve never been happier in my life. Love you, Kitten!
