Box From Japan: Ramen Subscriptions Are Back!
After a short hiatus, I received an email from Javier. Javier runs Box From Japan, a website where you can get different subscription boxes full of interesting Japanese things! They have a ramen box – which comes with 4 varieties of instant noodles from Japan. They also have a cando box which has a ton of different kinds of Japanese candies which are odd and interesting. Even a Pokemon box! Let have a look inside this one!
Exotic Noods Sends Their New Premium Box
Exotic Noods (www.exoticnoods.com) is a monthly subscription box – 4 varieties from around the world arrive at your door with chopsticks and info on them. Pretty great, especially if you don’t know what to try, don’t have an Asian grocery anywhere near where you live… Many reasons to check out an instant noodle subscription service. I think the best reason is to try something new and expand your palate! This box is a ‘premium’ box – wioth a lot of extras! Let’s look inside!
More Product Samples From Prima Taste
When I get a package here, it’s turned into a kind of celebration. So the head of festivities is Miles – a box comes and he’s ready to beat on it like a drum! I think he’s going to be a percussionist when he grows up – which I’d definitely be okay with. However, maybe he’ll be a noodle reviewer and follow in my footsteps – who knows; he’s not even two years old yet haha! Let’s open the box!
More New Samples From MyKuali
Here’s another box from MyKuali – hoping that it’s got what I am hoping it has inside! Let’s see!
Chinese Instant Noodles From A Reader In China
I got a message from a reader whose name is Zou from China. He has this instant noodle he said I have to try – and so we start chatting. So it came in the mail a couple days ago! Let’s check out what he sent!
Product Samples From Prima Taste
Got this neat dual box package in the mail the other day! What’s inside? Let’s see…
Book Review: Fine Dining With Johor Kaki: 100 Must-Try Johor’s Heritage & Street Food
A couple of months ago, I was sent a new book (click to enlarge) by my friend Tony Johor Kaki! He runs a really great blog and I first found him from his instant noodle reviews. Now he’s written a book – Fine Dining With Johor Kaki: 100 Must-Try Johor’s Heritage & Street Food. Its a really neat presentation of some of southern peninsular Malaysia’s great foods and where to find them. Here are some words about it from the author:
Meet The Manufacturer: Product Samples From Howsler Foods (2 of 2)
Since Meet The Manufacturer can be up to 15 reviews, I told Kyle over at Howsler foods that I’d be able to re-review varieties he’d sent before. He was pretty happy about this and so here’s a box of them. So, let’s pop it open!
Meet The Manufacturer: Product Samples From Howsler Foods (1 of 2)
Here’s the first box from Howsler Foods. So let’s crack it open!
Product Samples From Howsler Foods (1 of 2) – Taiwan
Well packed, indeed!
MyKuali Sends Long-Awaited Samples From Malaysia!
Hooray a new box of MyKuali samples! I’ve been a big fan of their products ever since they released their Penang White Curry way back in 2013 I believe. Since then, they appeared on my top Ten Spiciest list and then my Top Ten annual. They’re known nowadays worldwide as something unique and different. Let’s see what’s in this package!
The January Box From Exotic Noods!
Exotic Noods is a monthly subscription service where you can get a few neat varieties of instant noodles shipped to your door! This is really great for those who are nowhere near an Asian grocery – or those of you who are but have no idea where to start or what to try. Their picks are usually pretty good – stuff most people will enjoy. Let’s crack this box open and see what’s inside!!
New Advertising Samples From CarJEN
I like to collect posters and advertising stuff dealing with instant noodles and really wanted one of the new CarJEN posters featuring their new Hot Curry – so they were kind enough to send some! Thanks! Let’s check them out among the other neat stuff they sent!
A Big Box Of Donations From Colin
A reader named Colin has again sent another big box of instant noodles – thank you so much! He’s sent two others that have been absolutely awesome – lots of kinds I’ve never seen! Let’s see what’s in here!
Japanese Noodle Samples From Ippin!
I got an email last week from a company that sells all sorts of neat Japanese stuff – Ippin! A marketer named Lee contacted me! There’s Ippin for the United States and Ippin for Singapore. Let’s see what Lee put in this neat package from Japan!
Product Samples From Nyor Nyar Of Malaysia!
Okay so I live in a small town in between a lot of bigger ones called Kenmore. We get a LOT of power outages here, and it looks like we’re probably going to have one tonight! Remnants of typhoon Songda shot out of the south pacific and made a beeline right for western Washington state. This neat box of samples arrived about an hour ago – I asked for more of these since I really like them a lot and they were kind enough to send some! Let’s crack this box open!
Meet The Manufacturer: Product Samples From Mr. Lee’s Noodles
So this awesome box came today!
Ah I see – it was two boxes connected together!
Opening a box, you are greeted by this little sheet (click to enlarge)
Tseng Noodles – Coming To America!
This is a box I’ve been really excited about – and I think a lot of you will be excited as well. People have been asking me about Tseng/Zeng noodles and where to get them since they were #9 on my annual The Ramen Rater’s top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2016 Edition. They just made #1 on my Taiwan Top Ten list2 days ago. Well, I have it on good authority that they will be available in the United States at 99 Ranch Market in California around Christmas time – that’s all I know for now but if I hear more, I’ll let you all know!
New Cup Noodles From Nissin Foods USA (2 of 2)
Nissin Foods USA recently changed their instant Cup Noodles recipe for the first time in decades. Why? To lower sodium, MSG and artificial flavorings. Here are the samples they kindly send – they got new clothes as well!

New Samples From South Korea’s Paldo Food
First, I want to send a special thank you to Yongmin Park for sending me product samples! See, every year I do the Top Ten South Korean Instant Noodles list and each year it’s starting to seem like I get fewer and fewer products to try from South Korea. People have been getting grumpy about the list too – see, it’s only for products made IN South Korea, not elsewhere. Let’s have a look inside and see what awaits!
Meet The Manufacturer: President Rice Product Samples
A big box arrived today! Let’s open it up!
Wow (click to enlarge) – this box is full. Nothing more could fit in it – it’s like a mathematician figured out exactly where everything must fit like a puzzle! Whoever packed this should get an award!
Product Samples From Tseng Noodles Of Taiwan
Today started well, then got a little crazy then got better – I started at 5am with reviewing some noodles. Then the power went out around 7am for over two hours! A bit later, the mailman knocked on the door with a big package of Taiwanese noodles! Tseng was in The Ramen Rater’s top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2016 list this year – and they have some new products! Let check them out!
Disney Noodles From Nissin Thailand!
Walked to get the mail today and the mailman gave me this box. Wasn’t sure what it was and then remembered! Nissin Thailand has a line of Winnie The Pooh themed noodles I saw a few times on instagram. I asked my contact Ms. Janenate about getting some samples and here they are! You might remember her name from the Nissin Thailand Meet The Manufacturer (check it out here). The neat little cups have little Winnie The Pooh fishcake in them! Let’s look inside!

Top Ten List Samples From Prima Taste
Looks like I’ll be doing some interview here in the USA soon! Those are always a lot of fun. I asked Prima Taste over in Singapore if they could send some samples along of the products they have that are in the Top Ten this year – and they did!
New ‘Hot Dry Curry’ From CarJEN Foods
I saw a picture of something new on CarJEN’s facebook page and asked if I could get some samples – and they arrived recently!
Meet The Manufacturer: More Special Items From Nissin Hong Kong
A little story. So a few weeks back, Nissin HK sent a package which got lost by the shipping company for some reason. I ended up getting a different package – an envelope that wasn’t supposed to come to me but addressed to me (weird). Well, Nissin HK was kind enough to send another package (which was the first Special Items From Hong Kong post). After quite a while, lo and behold the original package arrives! Apparently it ended up in Alabama. No clue how – but they tracked it down and got it back from whoever received it and sent it my way. So here it is – check it out – and thank you very much to Nissin HK!!!
Meet The Manufacturer: Special Items From Nissin Hong Kong
A couple days back, I got a box from Nissin Hong Kong with instant noodle ‘premiums.’ Premiums are things that might be given away at a special event or prizes! I usually ask companies partaking in a Meet The Manufacturer if they might have some to send I can show – let’s see what’s inside!
Meet The Manufacturer: Product Samples From Nissin Hong Kong
So I’ve been chatting with the DHL guy lately – especially since he’s been coming by quite often. Today he brought a huge box from Nissin HK! I often give him extra noodles – I’ve got so many at this point it’s kind of overwhelming! This batch though is all ones I’ve never reviewed and only one of each! Let’s open it up!
Yet Another Box From Colin
So if you like the reviews lately, many of them can be attributed to a guy named Colin from Massachusetts. He has sent three boxes in the past few months, full of varieties I’ve not reviewed. What’s amazing is that he’s in the USA – just on the opposite coast! Thanks, man! Let’s take a loo inside this one.
The June Box From Japan
For a while now, Javier over at BoxFromJapan.com has been sending me sample boxes and they’ve been really out of this world. Box From Japan is a subscription service – you can get a new box every month to your door – it’s reasonably priced I think since you can’t find any of these in the USA, plus I’ve NEVER gotten a single instant ramen from him that I’ve ever reviewed before – and that’s definitely saying something. Not only that, he also has a candy box – all sorts of neat treats from Japan as well! Let’s look inside!
New Product Samples From Oni Hot Pot Of Taiwan
I’ve been getting a LOT of boxes lately! Here’s one I wasn’t expecting!
Two new varieties (click to enlarge)! I’ve reviewed the two on the top, their ghost pepper and xo sauce flavors. On the botton are the new tuna and seaweed flavors! Thank you – looking forward to checking these out!
New Products from Nissin And Myojo Of Singapore!
The DHL guy is my new pal – I hook him up with extra instant noodles I’ve got. He’ll probably end up with a couple from this box too! Kind of neat – he bring me noodles and I share some of the ones he brought! Well, let’s have a look inside!
Product Samples From Oree Garden Of Malaysia
When I was asked by a new Malaysian company if I’d like to review their samples, you can guess my answer – and here they are!
