I have fallen ill with some kind of head cold it seems and I thought something spicy would be good. My lovely wife Kit was kind enough make me some noodles for breakfast – she’s so good to me! Thought I’d have these – they’re available in the US now, but this is a Re-Review of the pack that is sold in Korea. The version sold in the US will be being reviewed soon! Here’s the link to the original review I did during Paldo’s Meet The Manufacturer.

Re-Review: Nongshim Jinjja Jinjja (Really Really) Ramyun
You’re probably wonder ‘gee, he sure reviews that Jinjja Jinjja quite a lot – what gives?’ Well, they sent me a lot of it and since I really like it, I want to enjoy it before it expires. Well, actually it expired in September, but I’m just about out of it. Here’s the last full review of it.
Re-Review: Indomie Curly Noodle With Chicken & Chilli Paddi
This is one that ended up at second place on the Top Ten Spiciest Instant Noodles Of All Time – that means its really hot! There are these tiny little peppers (chilli paddi) that are real scorchers and they’re small enough that when you happen to find one, you get quite a jolt! I reviewed this a while back this year – #732 and during the Meet The Manufacturer: Indomie special. This is one of the packs sent directly from Indofood in Indonesia – I am told they will be sending some new samples very soon! Can’t wait to try them!
Re- Review: emart Ramen e Ramen White Broth Noodle Soup
I reviewed this one a little while back – was review #787. Use this link to see everything about it. By the way, emart has informed me that they have a new product that just launched – should be here soon! Can’t wait to review it!
#911: Nissin Top Ramen Cucharealo Home-Style Habanero Shrimp Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup
Here’s the last of Nissin’s Cucharealo – the Habanero Shrimp. Been waiting for the right time to try this out and today is the day!
#892: ABC Selera Pedas Mi Rebus Hot Tomato Soup Flavour
Here’s one of the last couple packs that my friend from Jakarta, Indonesia sent. ABC is well known for their sweet soy sauce. This looks really interesting though – spicy and tomato! Let’s try it.
#881: Han’s Korea Rice Noodle With Hot & Spicy Flavored Soup
Here’s something I got at KS Mart in Lynnwood, Washington. Looks pretty awesome – Han’s Korea! Well, let’s give it a try.
#876: Mi Instan Sarimi Soto Koya Pedasss
This one was sent by a friend in Jakarta, Indonesia – thank you! What a day – so around 11am, people started flooding into the site! LifeHacker ran a story about The Ramen Rater and literally thousand of people have checked out the blog. Well, here’s one from Indonesia – Soto Koya Pedass. Pedas means spicy, so I guess Pedass means really spicy or it could be a nod to Turturro in The Big Lebowski. I have a feeling it just means really spicy. I’ve seen this kind of thing before – extra letters = extra emphasis, at least in Indonesian. Well, let’s dig in to this one!
Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo Teumsae Ramyun
I saw a YouTube video recently where a man is trying to handle the heat of this instant ramyun. He couldn’t – to the point of cursing these noodles. Another reason that Paldo’s Teumsae Ramyun is #1 on the Top Ten Spiciest Instant Noodles of All Time list. But Teumsae; what is that? Teumsae is a well known restaurant chain in Korea. They’re well known for their spicy ways as well!
#827: Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo Rabokki
#826: Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo Namja Ramyun (Men’s Ramyun)
Here’s a new one from Paldo – Namja. Namja translates to “man” or “guy” – I think they’re saying this is very hot and spicy. I wonder if there will be a product that is made for women as well? Well, let’s see if I’m man enough for this bowl of noodles!
Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo Interview
I’m very happy to announce that today begins Meet The Manufacturer Week: Paldo~ There will be many reviews and information about this great South Korean company. Here, we shall start with the interview. Enjoy!
Special: Nongshim Jinjja Jinjja + Peanut Butter, Kimchi & BACON!!!
Good news and bad news. Bad news: no reviews for about a week (we’re going on vacation). The good news: I will leave you with the first ever bacon monstrosity!
#812: Master Kong/康师傅 Spicy Beef
Spicy beef! This was sent by Bo H. of China! Thanks again! These have all been a lot of fun and quite good! Let’s see how Master Kong’s Spicy Beef goes.
#806: Ohsung Hot & Spicy Bowl Noodle Soup With Soy Peptide
Here’s one the folks at Ramen Place sent a while back. Sounded good today to have somethin’ spicy! Soy peptide eh? Here’s some info. Let’s see how it goes.
#801: Gấu Đỏ Mi Tôm Chua Cay (Hot & Sour Shrimp Flavour)
Here’s the last of the packs that Carter B. sent from his time in Mali. Hot & sour shrimp sounds awesome – so let’s give it a try.
#795: Master Kong Red Oil Dan Dan Noodles
Here’s another one that Bo H. sent me from China! Thanks again! So what are Dan Dan noodles? here’s what Wikipedia says:
#787: emart Ramen e Ramen White Broth Noodle Soup
Today I received a big box full of instant noodles from South Korea! These are made by emart. If you can imagine a Korean version of Walmart, you’re on the right track – these are super huge superstores over there. Anyways, a fellow from emart contacted me about reviewing this new product of theirs and of course I said yes. They sent a box with some nice hats and 8 of these 6 pakcs – yep – 48 packages of noodles! Wow!
#784: Hankow “Cai Lin Ji” Dry Noodles
Here’s another one my sister brought me from Canasda. I’ve been very curious about what’s going on with this one for a while. Today seemed like the right day for it. I used the UPC code to find the website for this company and found this little snippet about the product:
Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Nongshim Jinjja Jinjja (Really Really) Ramyun
Since my last review of this product, I found out that I made it wrong! Yup… I suppose if I could read Korean I would’ve made it right. It turns out that the red packet goes in first with the noodles and cooks, and the peanut and veggies go in last after everything’s cooked! I’m hungry – gonna do it exactly as I’m supposed to this time! Here’s the old review.
Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Black Premiun Noodle Soup
Here we go with the last of the Shin Ramyun varieties I’ll be doing for Nongshim Meet The Manufacturer week. Shin Ramyun Black!
Donation Of Samples From Nongshim America & Nongshim Korea!
I got two shipments today – one from Nongshim America, which I visited last week (there’ll be a lot of stuff all about the visit, the plant tour and the people very soon!). Here’s the first one from Nongshim America!
The Ramen Rater Really Meets The Manufacturer On Nongshim USA Trip!
Tomorrow, my wife and I are headed to the airport to fly down to the Nongshim USA plant in Rancho Cucamonga, California! There, we’re going to do a plant tour, a noodle tasting, and a videotaped interview for the next Meet The Manufacturer, which (you guessed it) will feature Nongshim. We’ll return on Saturday with stories and pictures – I might do a post while we’re down there from my phone possibly. I want to say thank you to the wonderful folks at Nongshim USA for this opportunity to learn more about their company and instant noodles! We’re really looking forward to this! Next stop, southern California.
#732: Meet The Manufacturer – Indomie Curly Noodle With Chicken & Chilli Paddi
Alrighty – I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing this is going to be spicy stuff. Let’s find out! First off, what’s chilli paddi? Wikipedia says:
#688: Ohsung Hot & Spicy Hong Ramyun Noodle Soup With Soy Peptide
This is one that came from the nice folks at Ramen Place! Thanks again! Hot and spicy? Soy peptide? Korean? Yeah this should be awesome stuff!
#686: Wingsfood Mi Sedaap Mi Goreng Perisa Sambal Goreng
More Indonesian noodles! This one’s a spicy pack of mi goreng – fried noodles!
This is the export label.
#656: Nissin Ramen Bowl Hot & Spicy Flavor
It’s really funny; someone just emailed me asking if I had noticed that Nong Shim’s Bowl Noodle had changed since they repackaged – I haven’t tried it yet. One thing they also said was they couldn’t find the Hot & Spicy variety anywhere anymore. I picked up a few of these Nissin Ramen Bowls at H Mart the other day. 99 cents apiece and they’re very much like the size of the Nong Shim – and lo and behold, Hot & Spicy! Let’s see if it’s a good one.
#640: Master Kong Artificial Spicy Beef Flavor Instant Noodle
Sadly, this is last of the Master Kong varieties sent to me by Chad B. of Highland, Illinois – thanks again Chad – your stickers went out in the mail yesterday!
#634: Baijia Sichuan Hot Pot Flavor Instant Sweet Potato Thread
This one was sent by Michelle L. of New York! Unfortunately, for this one I have exceedingly low expectations. Every Baijia product I’ve tried has been just plain gross in my opinion.
#625: Pot Noodle Bombay Bad Boy Flavour
Ahh – this is the next to last of the Pot Noodle cups that were sent to me by Cindy C. of England – thanks again! It has most certainly been quite a culinary journey! Bombay Bad Boy eh? Let’s check this oddly named cup of noodles out!
#621: Ottogi Jin Ramen (Hot) Asian Style Instant Noodle Big Bowl
You like it hot? This stuff is good and it delivers some decent heat too. I’ve had the cup, the pack and now, the big bowl. Wonder if there’s a regular sized bowl? Hmm…
#609: Wei-Wei “A” Series Instant Noodles Artificial Hot Beef Flavor
Here’s another that was sent to me by Michelle L. of New York. This is something I’ve never had before – Wei-Wei brand. Wai Wai yes, Wei-Wei, no. The packaging is interesting – note the guy with the suave hat in the upper right. He’s there; on the scene – purchasing noodles . Let’s see if these noodles rock. Note the economical 49 cent price tag!
Tipping Point: Is There Really A Danger From Cup Noodles?
I’ve seen a few articles as of late about people burning themselves because they tip over cups of instant noodles. This is ridiculous. These articles start citing that the design of these cup is flawed. Also, it is mentioned that many of the victims are children! I think anyone saying “here little tyke, be careful, it’s hot” ought to have their heads examined. . If you don’t know how to correctly operate and consume a cup noodle, I will herein inform you as to how.
#599: Lucky Me! Pancit Canton (Chow Mein) Extra Hot Chili Flavor
Pancit Canton! Ahhh this stuff is so good! It’s a lot like Mi Goreng but a little sweeter. Anyways, Let’s give their extra hot chili flavor a try!
#566: Food Mon DJ-DOC Jjolmyeon
This is another from the DJ-DOC line. DJ-DOC is a kind of boy band/dance trio from Korea from what I see on Youtube. The last one of these I had was pretty spicy and like a lasagna! Curious how this one’ll be! This one has ‘jjolmyeon – what’s that you say? Here’s a little wisdon from the Wikipedia:
#559: Wai Wai Quick Tom Yum Shrimp Flavour Instant Cup Noodle
Whoa what’s this?
Okay I cam read that. I figured I should pick out an orange one of some kind for Halloween…
#530: Namchow Mee-Jang Artificial Shrimp Tom Yum Flavor Instant Noodles
This was a neat find at a local market I don’t go to very often. There’s a long aisle of instant noodles and I noticed a single instant noodle cup that didn’t seem to have any place where it would go. So I went around to the other side of the aisle and was hoping there’d be more. Well, there wasn’t a continuation of instant noodle aisle, but I did find this one in a weird spot, again with no correlating spot on the main aisle. With that, once again I bring you what you want.
#490: FoodMon DJ-DOC Instant Ramen Rice Toppokki
First things first. My wife pointed this out at a Korean supermarket here in town and I was like ‘what the heck is this?’ So we got it and I’ve had some issues with it. First, I had a lot of problems finding out how to cook it. Also, what was it called??? As you can see, there’s one of those funky square bar codes on top of the container here. I went and scanned it with my Android phone and sent it to the Google translate. Click here to see what it comes up with…
#440: Maruchan Instant Lunch Hot & Spicy Beef Flavor Ramen Noodles With Vegetables
So here’s some Instant Lunch. Haven’t done one of these in a while and I’m sure that there’s a ton of them I need to do still. So hot & spicy beef – let’s give ‘er a try.
#437: Nongshim Big Bowl Spicy Noodle Soup With Kimchi Flavor
Honestly instead of Big Bowl I think these should be marketed as Huge Bowl, but honestly this is about what you would get if you bought a pack of Nongshim Kimchi noodles in a pack, except you would get better quality noodles there. These noodles are built for fast inflating and absorbency.
