Here’s another one – curry flavor!!! This is the four pack.

Here’s another of the KOKA line to re-review – tomato flavor! Here’s the four pack.
Here’s one of the samples sent to me by Khong Guan marketing manager James Parr – thanks again! I haven’t had this is a very long time – since the 230’s! This is what a four pack looks like.
A couple days ago, I got this package in the mail! Wonder what’s inside?
Seriously well packed! Lots of executive anti-stress sheets! My son loves these!
Here’s the first one of the reviews I’ll be doing of the big donation from Jennifer Kim at Ramen Place (www.ramenplace.com)! Thanks again! This one’s a new brand – Ohsung. It’s from Korea! Let’s have a look!
This the last of the noodles sent to me by Cindy C. of London, UK – your donation was so kind and so appreciated! I really had no idea about British instant noodles before!
Here’s the next to last of the noodles sent by Cindy C. of England! Basically, a cup (or a pot) noodle where you supply your own cup (or mug). Shall we check it out?
You may have been wondering, “why so few reviews this week?” Well, to put it mildly, I’m sick. Had this horrible nagging cough for three weeks. Didn’t make it to work two weeks ago, made it this week and then the whole thing kicked into ultra overdrive. We’re talking about staying in bed all day people. Mucus flowing like the Mississippi. I’m starting the slow path to recovery thanks in no small part to my wife and my sister’s kindness. Today I decided that after being upo for quite a while I’d better make myself eat something. I decided to go with some chicken Top Ramen.
So nobody sent in any photos this week! Last week’s submissions were all so awesome too! Come on, people! Like I always say, the more the merrier – send in your noodle pics – homemade, nothing fancy, all spruced up, whatever! Email them to hans@theramenrater.com – include your first name and last initial and whereabouts you from and it’ll get put ion next week’s Show Your Noodles!
Here’s the new Noodle News #6! I scour the net for stories on noodles from all over the place! Here you go!
Definitely one that’s been sitting at the bottom of the noodle hamper for a while – it’s barely expired – not worried. Let’s give it a try!
Today, my Top Ten List has made news in Japan (Google Translate here) and so I thought it would only be proper to try a nice Japanese bowl of noodles by Nissin. This one’s packing some tempura!
Thought I’d eat this before it got too far out of date. Got it at 99 Ranch Market – my wife spotted it and lo and behold, I hadn’t reviewed it. Here we go…
Starting yesterday evening, I noticed a huge amount of people from Korea coming to the site. Apparently, they were all coming in droves because of a news story about my Top Ten list including Nong Shim’s Shin Ramyun Black noodles! Well, here’s some links and some pictures of the articles. I’m really hoping someone can translate them soon as Google Translate has done a really crummy job where it usually does so well.
Today seemed like a good day to have some Kimchi noodle bowl action. Here we are and here we go!
This has to be one of the strangest instant noodles I’ve seen. No instructions. Strange packets. Here we go with #666!
This one came from Greg B. of Marathon, Florida – thanks, Greg! What the heck is Moo Nam Tok supposed to taste like? From Wikipedia:
Curry. Always sounds good to me! Thai curry usually is a very tasty thing to behold – let’s see if this pack does it justice.
I got an email from 99 Ranch Market with this recipe in it today and thought I’d post it – sounds like a nice little Valentine’s Day dinner. Hope everyone’s having a good day!
Here’s one I’ve been meaning to get to and here we go! Thisd one is from Greg B. of Marathon, FL! Thanks Greg – let’s give this one a try!
Here’s another Japanese bowl I got at Uwajimaya. The one yesterday was so good, I thought a kitsune udon bowl would be nice today.
Welcome to the sixth installment of Show Your Noodles! The fifth week had no submissions so that was a real bummer. On the bright side, this week there were a whopping three submissions – first time with that many! Great job people, keep it up! As always, my wife Kit did the judging and without further adieu, we start with first, then second and third place.
As always, I scour the Internet searching from news about instant noodles. Here’s some articles that you may find interesting:
Hey it’s tempura time with the ponpoko! I think if you don’t know about Ponpoko or Tanuku, you should check out this review before reading any further. I’m curious how this soba will be – direct from Japan!
Here are the results for the last poll:
Do you like you instant noodles hot and spicy?
Here it is – the new Ramen Rater Top Ten List! It was originally released on Foodiggity.com on January 9th, 2011 as an exclusive guest post I did. Now, here it is on The Ramen Rater for your perusal with links to all of the corresponding reviews! Enjoy!
I got a comment from a place called Ramen Place asking me to check out their web store. Lots of things I’ve not seen before! So I sent an email off to www.ramenplace.com early this week asking if they’d be up for donating some varieties. I got a resounding and very nice yes! Here’s a big box that came from them – As you can see, it’s dwarfing Otis the Pug!
I have been able to get the opportunity to do an interview with Singapore’s Tat Hui Corporation, makers of KOKA noodles! I have compiled a list of questions to ask and now would like YOU to round out the list – what would you ask them? This will be open until Monday, 2/13/2012. At the end, I will list the questions picked to send them! Make sure you include your first name and last initial and where you are from in the response! Good luck!
Beef? Na – beef! I remember a while back I had Chicken na Chicken too – startlingly, it was chicken flavored. Beef sounds nice. Let’s give ‘er a shot…
So I did a guest post on Foodiggity! Decided I’d give em’ the exclusive and so The new Top Ten Instant Noodles In The World (according to me) is on their site right now! Don’t worry – it’ll be up here on Saturday, but for now, check it out on Foodiggity – here‘s the link!
Decided to go with quick and easy and those words had Nissin Ramen Bowl written all over them. (?)
Rode the bus home from work. I’ve had a hacking cough lately and was eager to get home. Got off the bus and was hoofing it up the street tgo my apartment when I thought I ought to see if there’s a package at the office. Well, there was.
Hey look! Mega-enormous Korean noodle bowl! Found this one at H Mart in Lynnwood, WA. Had the pack and the cup – now we’ll find out Hwa-ssup with this enormous King Cup! Yes we will. Yes.
Another pack of Dragonfly brand noodles from China… Onion was great in a big bowl version – how will it be in a pack? Let’s see…
I sent an email to Jerry at www.cbsop.com (which stands for ‘Cooking By The Seat of Our Pants) about doing a guest post. He was more than happy about it and here’s the post entitled, “The Gentle Art Of Making Indonesian Instant Noodles: The Finest Of The Fine.” Thanks again, Jerry!
It’s really funny; someone just emailed me asking if I had noticed that Nong Shim’s Bowl Noodle had changed since they repackaged – I haven’t tried it yet. One thing they also said was they couldn’t find the Hot & Spicy variety anywhere anymore. I picked up a few of these Nissin Ramen Bowls at H Mart the other day. 99 cents apiece and they’re very much like the size of the Nong Shim – and lo and behold, Hot & Spicy! Let’s see if it’s a good one.
Found this last week while looking for stuff to make my curry soup. Not something standard here; just noodles. But they’re fried noodles from Indonesia by the company that makes the Super Bihun. That rad looking bomb logo calls to me and so here we try Mie Telor Asli Cap Atoom Bulan.
Click image to enlarge. Yes it’s true. It’s the Tat Hui Koka Tomato flavor ramen with guacamole and sour cream and Texas Pete hot sauce. Eat this and your team will win.
Click poster to enlarge. I saw this online and thought – hey – everyone should know about it! If you live around Lafayette, LA, be sure to check out the Total Ramen-nation! Here’s more info!
