The Definitive Source For Instant Noodle Reviews Since 2002
I’ve often wondered if I would ever find this one. I’ve seen i mentioned quite a few times, and finally the other day I found it at a local grocery store. Vegan… Organic… Let’s give it a try.
Here’s another awesome looking Pot Noodle flavor that was sent by Joe & Gill of the UK – again, I must say thank you very much! They are a couple of the many people who have been extra kind and sent varieties that I haven’t ever reviewed my way. No way I could find this one here in the states! So what is Jamaican Jerk flavor anyways? I asked Wikipedia:
I reviewed this one years back – in the first 50 reviews. Back then I reviewed it as a soup. Recently, it was brought to my attention that these could be made in a different way – drained. Sure enough, on the back of the package are instructions on how to make them this way. I have deemed this worthy of a new review! Here we go.
Here’s another new one from Joe & Gill of the UK! Wow! This is something brand new to me – instant noodles from Poland?! Yup they sure are. But what the heck is ‘Żurek?’ Well, Wikipedia has this to say:
While scouring local Asian markets for varieties I hadn’t yet reviewed, I came upon these. They’re Chinese and in a really big package!
Here’s another one of the new ones that Joe & Gill sent me from the UK! Never tried this one before – they sent quite a few Ko-Lee varieties and sounded like they like them a lot. Let’s check out the chicken special!
I’ve been going through the reviews I’ve done over the years with a fine-toothed comb lately and thought this one was most definitely due to a re-review. I know a lot of people enjoy this one, so let’s give it an in-depth look!
Wai Wai? Because, because! I know, pretty stupid but I like to say it. I thought I’d reviewed this one before but lo and behold it stands unreviewed! This is a Thai variety and should be something interesting I hope. Let’s check it out!
Here’s the first of many reviews of instant noodles that were donated by Joe & Gill of the UK! Thank you again! It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a Pot Noodle. Generally they’re impossible to find in the United States – which surprises me since I think they’d do really well here. Anyways, Let’s check out the sweet and sourness!
A little while back, a couple named Joe & Gill from the UK sent me some pictures for the ‘Show Your Noodles’ competition. They also offered to send some noodles from across the pond! After a little while, here they are!
Here’s the original review. It’s cold today so I thought it sounded good. I figure I should mention – there will be some new reviews very soon! I am working on a huge project that’s been taking so much time. A hint – it has to do with upgrading this blog! I’ve been editing every post and image. A lot of work let me tell you! It will definitely be worth it in the end!
A couple of weeks ago I was looking for articles to add to The Ramen Rater Noodle News and found an article with a YouTube video attached. Apparently, a recent college graduate had made something that involves cooking instant noodles and it would start selling at Walmart. I thought I’d see if I could contact the guy and get a sample of the product to review. Well, he sent a couple and here we go! Chris Johnson is the inventor of the Rapid Ramen Cooker. It promises speedy delivery of your instant noodles via the microwave! Before the review, here’s an interview I did with him recently via email.
An absolute surprise yesterday! Found this and two other Maruchan Yakisoba varieties I’ve been hunting for for quite a long time! Let’s give it a try!
Got this mailer today from the mailman…
This is a new product I found out about from a news story (link). I thought ‘wow this is awesome!’ After looking, I found the guy who invented and is marketing the product, Chris Johnson. He graciously offered to send samples and do an interview! Well, here are the samples and I will be trying them out with a few brands and doing an interview pretty soon. Thanks for these, Chris! Looking forward to hearing more about them! By the way, you can check out his website at www.rapidramen.com!
Was thinking about what to have for lunch and the big box of 48 packs of this stuff told me to have one! So I did. Here’s the original review I did recently.
Thought I’d try this one again – it’s pretty sad – I have nothing new to review! Looking forward to some new varieties coming soon though hopefully! A couple from the UK have informed me that they’re sending a treasure trove of interesting varieties! Can’t wait! In the meantime, here’s the elusive Cucharealo – haven’t seen it for sale anywhere yet. Good stuff! Here’s the original review here.
I did a Meet The Manufacturer on Yamachan a little while back and found their products to be quite good! Here’s a new one they’ve come out with – a mild Tonkotsu! Sounds excellent! Thanks to the folks at Yamachan in San Jose, California for sending this! Now, to the review!
Instantaneous Lunch? Nope – three minutes. But if you’re too impatient for that, I suppose one could eat it raw. I prefer the cooked version myself!
NOTE – This was originally catalogued as a ‘Re-Review’ but actually hadn’t reviewed it before. Therefore, I am correcting this and making it the next successive review, which is #937.
Just a note – there’s a new number one on the Top Ten Spiciest Noodles Of All Time List! It’s South Korea’s emart with Dare You! Habanero Ramen!!! Man, it sure was hot! Go have a look here!
I got a couple of these family packs sent as samples from Nongshim America the other day…
Hey – a package from Nongshim America – but what’s inside?
This just came out for sale in the USA and I can’t wait to try it! If it’s the same as what they make in Korea (see review), then it’s some serious 5.0/5.0 star stuff. Made for sale here in California! Awesome! Thanks to Ray A. and Hanna C. over at NSA! Might do this review later today!
My son went and picked out a bunch of instant noodles at the Asian grocery a couple weeks ago and today he would like to try this one. A good pick – nothing’s more interesting than curry! I put curry up there with garlic, bacon and kimchi… Indescribably tasty.
We went to Walmart on Black Friday! Well, let me explain – it was at 6pm or so, so the amount of crazy people was lower. It seems though that the Walmart we always go to has a surplus of crazy people usually. I imagine the early morning Black Friday folks would’ve been a scary lot. One thing I noticed was that they hadn’t bought all of the noodles, so I thought I’d get a couple to re-review. Here’s one of them last time I tried it, it was revirew #207. Hoping some new things to review come soon – only have one in the hamper that’s needing review… Re-reviews are fun though since they’re not been visited in so long.
It’s the day after Thanksgiving and I thought this would be nice to have. I’ve reviewed the Korean version in the past – this is the version for sale in the US.
I am in charge of throwing the turkey in the oven this year at noon. I figured breakfast shouldn’t have anything turkey like involved and pardon the turkey at least ramen-wise for a day. Then Black Friday will be a day that the turkeys will cower – planning on using turkey in some ramen meals for the next week or so – should be awesome! But for now, here’s something I decided to make for breakfast. By the way, here’s what I did for 2011’s Thanksgiving.
Here’s another of these neat trays. This one’s soybean paste flavored. Interesting again how they use upper and lower case all willy-nilly.
After this one, I think I have only four new ones to review! Egad! Hoping the mailman brings some new things to review soon! So here’s a cup of noodles for breakfast…
Been quite a while since I reviewed this one – it was #348. I thought some kimchi sounded really good and so here we go!
Here’s the last of the ones my sister brought me back from Hawaii! Minced pork bean vermicelli… Sounds kind of interesting! A very dark day here – wet, cold and windy.
Here’s one I got the other day at 99 Ranch Market. Was hoping they had a few more varieties, but they had two – two closer to the #1000th review! I’m not going to stop, just can’t wait to hit it! I think this one would win the prize for interesting use of upper and lower case characters.
Here’s some more Kokomen – this is the one sold in the USA! It’s a really rainy day today and some spicy chicken noodles sound really tasty! Let’s hit it!
Went to 99 Ranch Market yesterday and picked these up. I reviewed them way back – #136 – over two years ago. I gave them 2.0 out of 5.0 stars. Many of your have commented on how much you enjoy it and so I think I’ll give it another chance. I’ve found varieties from back then are more to my liking now.
Ok so what is this madness I speak of? Well, in Indonesia, there’s Mi Goreng which are fried noodles. I thought since my last recipe got a write up today in Fox News Magazine ( link), maybe I should get a pack and experiment. I thought since Indonesian instant noodles are my all time faves and I really really enjoy Korean ramyun, why not try a mash-up?
I went on a walk today and luckily, I missed the rain – but not the mailman! He had a very odd shaped package for me that I was completely befuddled about. That is, until I saw who it was from. Moses from Paldo had sent me some samples!
Here’s the other new one I saw at 99 Ranch the other day. Sounds interesting… Vegetarian flavor instant noodles often have an odd flavor – we’ll see what this one’s like.
Here’s something new from emart. emart (이마트) is the biggest store in Korea! They sent samples of their white broth ramyun a few months ago and now this, their ultra hot and spicy.
Been a while since I reviewed this one! Had it for #346 (check out the original review). I’m hungry – let’s go.
