This one comes by way of Daniel over the Exotic Noods – he asked if I’d tried it and since I hadn’t was kind enough to send one over – thanks! So, here we have a variety with a Thai flavor made in Taiwan. I’m game – let’s give it a try!

#4987: Dough Zone Restaurant Minced Pork Noodles – United States
The day after my wife Kit’s birthday, the kids went and visited family for a couple hours and we had a nice lunch together. Kit wanted to check this place out and so we went.
#4952: Maruchan Yakisoba Cheddar Cheese Flavor – United States
It was 2011. Nobody’d heard of COVID?. Everything was somewhat peaceful as far as I remember. 13 years ago. That was the last time I’d tried this one. There are a ton of these Yakisoba varieties – some are no longer made – the taco one was my 1000th review. Four Cheese, Tomato & Basil, Sweet * Sour – if you want to see them all here you go. But today, it’s cheese! Let’s cook it up.
#4870: KampongKu Curry Laksa Soup Noodles – Malaysia
Curry laksa? Oh yeah – sign me up! I’ve been a big fan of curry laksa for some time now and very curious how this one will be. Let’s cook it up!

#4820: Marutai Hakata Nagahama Ramen – Japan
Here’s one that came in a Zenpop.jp box – use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a groovy discount! This was in a triple box they sent – basically three boxes all at once. It didn’t come with any documentation, so I don’t know much about it. It only takes two minutes to steep which is pretty short. Let’s give it a try!
#4746: Current Instant Noodles Chatpata Masala – India
An interesting name for an instant noodle range. It could be construed in different ways; pertaining to it being in the now, or having to do with weather. It also says ‘yummy & mummy’ on there – never heard this phrase before – mummy? In the UK, a ‘yummy mummy’ means an attractive mother. Couldn’t find exactly what this meant in India except possibly a slang pertaining to children that are picky eaters and that mothers could give them this and they’d eat it? Fascinating. Let’s cook – I’m doing the fried directions on this one.
#4786: Nissin Cup Noodles Paneer Butter Masala – India
I was doing a lot of curies for dinner recently and butter masala was a neat thing I enjoyed for a little while.
#4769: Vite Ramen Garlic Pork Tonkotsu v3.0 – United States
Protein and vitamins and fiber and low sodium and pretty low calories for the size of the serving. Let’s begin.
#4714: Hezhai Lo Mein Pepper Chicken Flavor – China
Definitely found this at 99 Ranch Market. They’ve had a ton from this brand lately. Time to cook!
#4709: Nissin Hot & Spicy Fire Wok Volcanic Mongolian Beef – United States
Man, I’ve been itching to get my hands on this stuff for quite awhile and finally it showed up at my local grocery store. This is a pretty good range – especially the sizzlin’ rich pork – that one’s excellent. Let’s see if the Mongols can conquer them all!

Cold As Ice: Frozen Ramen – Your Holiday Gift
Today is December 25th, 2022. So, that’s what I did. It is your holiday gift! For free! You are very welcome! Hope everyone seeing this is having a great holiday season and that it ends soon and that 2023 is lacking a lot of insanity that the previous year contained.

My wife got me a gift off of Amazon. She didn’t say what it was. I immediately mentioned I’d emailed a publisher of a book asking for a review copy. Then I got the look.
The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Additions To Instant Noodles 2013
I eat instant noodles. Every day. As of writing this list, I’ve reviewed 1,219 different varieties of instant noodles. Many people ask me if I get sick of instant noodles. Part of the reason I always say no is that I add things to my noodles to make them a more complete meal after I’ve reviewed them. I have seen quite a few lists online purporting to ‘hack’ or ‘pimp’ your ramen. Well, I’m not going to say that you will be able program it or hire it out, but it should be a bit more enjoyable and well-rounded. With that, here are my top ten favorite things to add to instant noodles for 2013.
