Over 5,000 Instant Ramen Noodle Reviews Since 2002

Hey look – Tom Yum Shrimp! I really like Tom Yum – spicy, lemon, and shrimp! Let’s check this one out.

A couple of weeks ago I was looking for articles to add to The Ramen Rater Noodle News and found an article with a YouTube video attached. Apparently, a recent college graduate had made something that involves cooking instant noodles and it would start selling at Walmart. I thought I’d see if I could contact the guy and get a sample of the product to review. Well, he sent a couple and here we go! Chris Johnson is the inventor of the Rapid Ramen Cooker. It promises speedy delivery of your instant noodles via the microwave! Before the review, here’s an interview I did with him recently via email.

NOTE – This was originally catalogued as a ‘Re-Review’ but actually hadn’t reviewed it before. Therefore, I am correcting this and making it the next successive review, which is #937.

Went to 99 Ranch Market yesterday and picked these up. I reviewed them way back – #136 – over two years ago. I gave them 2.0 out of 5.0 stars. Many of your have commented on how much you enjoy it and so I think I’ll give it another chance. I’ve found varieties from back then are more to my liking now.

Here’s another one of Maruchan’s Instant Lunches – who would think that I wouldn’t have reviewed it until now… Weird! But here’s the shrimp instant cup!

Here’s the last of Nissin’s Cucharealo – the Habanero Shrimp. Been waiting for the right time to try this out and today is the day!

I’d thought I’d had everyone’s bowl noodles by now but lo and behold, a shrimp flavor by Paldo. So let’s give it a try!

Time for breakfast! Been waiting to try this one for just the right day. Just look at those enormous shrimp on that package! Jeez! I’m sure this will make for a good breakfast. Got this one at the local H Mart. By the way – today is a holiday – check out what Wikipedia says about it:

All good things… Well, these weren’t all that good but they were a lot of fun! Thanks go to Mark K. and Erika L. for getting these to me! They sent a slew of different flavors of Mr. Noodles and they were really my first foray into the world of Canadian instant noodles! Now it is time to give the last pack a try. Here we go!

This one comes from Courtney N. from British Columbia, Canada! How rad – this is from Seven-11 in Japan! Looks interesting…

Got this one at a grocery store in Livermore, California called Nob Hill. Pretty rare these days that I find something I haven’t tried in a grocery store!

Here’s the last of the packs that Carter B. sent from his time in Mali. Hot & sour shrimp sounds awesome – so let’s give it a try.

Here’s another one that a friend in Indonesia sent – thanks again! Curious how this one will be; I translated it to what looks like Koya lime flavor soup.

Yep – a Cup Noodle! Just sounded good. I reviewed one that I ate much earlier and just got done reviewing three that I only had a bite of each. This sounds like something tasty.

Here’s another of the Nongshim Shin Ramyun variants – shrimp flavor! This one was picked up for me by my sister in Canada. So far, I’ve been reviewing packs and cups from Korea and the United States by Nongshim. This one was made in China. I liked it a lot before – let’s have it again! Yay!
Tomorrow, my wife and I are headed to the airport to fly down to the Nongshim USA plant in Rancho Cucamonga, California! There, we’re going to do a plant tour, a noodle tasting, and a videotaped interview for the next Meet The Manufacturer, which (you guessed it) will feature Nongshim. We’ll return on Saturday with stories and pictures – I might do a post while we’re down there from my phone possibly. I want to say thank you to the wonderful folks at Nongshim USA for this opportunity to learn more about their company and instant noodles! We’re really looking forward to this! Next stop, southern California.

Here’s another of the ones sent to me by Carter B. of Lancaster, PA – thanks again! He got this one whilst in Africa! Never seen this brand before here. Something interesting – see that little red band along the front? It comes off!

I thought today I’d review this one, sent to me by the nice folks at Ramen Place – thanks! Was thinking it would go nicely with some of the stir fry veggies I’ve been enjoying lately. I also talked with Ray from Nongshim today – found out a little bit of information that you might find interesting if you didn’t know. Nongshim’s logo is a seed, and Nongshim translates to ‘Farmer’s Heart.’ I like that – and we’ll see how I like these noodles now!

Here’s the first review I’m doing with my new camera! No more Blackberry 8900 camera – now I’ll be using a Sony Cybershot 14.1MP! Should look better now, hopefully! Today I decided to dig out this bowl – it’s one my wife got for me for my birthday at Uwajimaya. Let’s give it a looksie!

Today’s my birthday! Yay! I haven’t had any Vina Acecook in a while so I thought I’d have this one that was in the bags of noodles my sis brought me back from the great white north! Yay! Time fer noodles!

This is a real treat – this is one of the varieties not available in the United States and was kindly sent by Edwin N. of Vancouver, BC! Thank you again so much!
He sent six of them and so I will try one of them every once in a while so they last. I am a huge fan of Indomie’s products and so very happy about this! I
should also mention that I have been directly contacted by Indomie and they are going to be sending me many varieties that aren’t usually available – that
donation will come at some point in the future. For now though, let’s check out spicy coconut shrimp flavor soup!

Decided to go with quick and easy and those words had Nissin Ramen Bowl written all over them. (?)

Been waiting for a good day to review these – they sound really good! I thought I’d try them today to celebrate the CNN article coming out!

Made a trip to Seattle and hit up Uwajimaya and got a ton of new noodles – lots of Japanese bowls! Anyways, let’s start with this prawn tom yam…

We went and got makings for Korean BBQ at the store yesterday and I found this unreviewed cup so I figured let’s do two cups today. Here we go!

Whoa what’s this?

Okay I cam read that. I figured I should pick out an orange one of some kind for Halloween…

Shramp! Nothin’ like shramp! Ami I wrong? AM I??? Well, I like shrimp and so today I will ingest a bowl of Ve Wong Shrimp flavor instant noodle soup from Taiwan. ‘Nuff said.

Got this one at Walmart. Was pretty sure I hadn’t tried it and was right so here goes.

“The hell you say!” you may be saying, but yes indeed my fellow noodleheads, it’s true. I reviewed 461 other instant noodles but decided to have today be the shrimp flava Top Ramen. Why you ask? Why not is your answer. So the package is very pink is just itching to be reviewed so here we go.

So here’s one of the noodles I reviewed during my interview with Rachel Belle at KIRO 97.3FM. I didn’t take a lot of pictures at all, but here’s a video of the making and eating of this one- it’s ghe larger of the two being tested.

So something a little more tame. Shrimp udon! Should be good and tasty I imagine. Fresh noodles are always good.

So here’s the second of the Gomex noodles. I’ve never seen them other than the two I’ve rated – pretty interesting. They’re from Vietnam and sound interesting, so let’s give em’ a try…

So this looks kind of interesting. Hmmm… I should make a list of the Maruchan Instant Lunches I’ve ingested and then I can go to the store and get all the ones I have not and then bam bam bam… Cheap noodle week!

So far I’ve been so pleased with the Vina Acecook products. Everything’s been so nice about them. So let’s try a new one – a bowl noodle this time.

Well, this looks like a lot of insanity! Here we go!!!

Wait – I thought this was pork and seafood flavor, not shrimp flavor…

So I’ve been doing these slowly because they’re so cool! Another my sis brought back from Canada. Tom Yam eh? Should be interesting!

I rarely have any issue with a nice shrimp flavor bowl of noodles. These are from Vietnam by Vifon – I’d better cook them up and review them ‘cuz I’m hungry!
