#1056: Meet The Manufacturer: A-Sha Dry Noodle Mandarin Noodle – Onion Oil Sauce
As most of you have probably noticed, I like onions. I usually pick sweet onion since it tends to smell up the freezer a bit less as I get a ton of them, prep them, then put them in a freezer bag. One time I got some at a grocery that were simply called brown onions, and they stunk up the entire fridge! Looking forward to this one by A-Sha – onion oil flavor!
#1055: Meet The Manufacturer: A-Sha Dry Noodle QQ Thin Noodle – BBQ Sauce
Today we’ve got the thinnest noodles I think I’ve seen in a pack. I was curious about the whole QQ thing so I looked it up and found this on Quora:
#1054: Meet The Manufacturer: A-Sha No. 10 – Mandarin Noodle – Black Pepper Sauce
When I first opened the box of samples from A-Sha, I was immediately curious about this one. Big, blocky red type on a stark white background. I’ve been told this black pepper flavor is tradition of a dish served at ‘Night Markets’ in Taiwan. A steak with a black pepper sauce and an egg on the side – a very nostalgic Taiwanese classic (here’s what it looks like). Let’s have a look.
#1053: Meet The Manufacturer: A-Sha Dry Noodle Tainan Noodle – Sesame Sauce
I was sitting in the car for a while yesterday and I turned on a streaming radio app I have on my phone. I searched for noodles and found a story about the popularity of cold sesame noodles in the ’60s there and a guy named Shorty Tang whose restaurant was quite popular. Anyways, here’s the radio broadcast.
#1052: Meet The Manufacturer: A-Sha Dry Noodle Hakka Flat Noodle – Chili Sauce
Here’s the first of seven in-depth reviews of A-Sha products. Wow – they’re wide! They’re also drained and liquid is stirred in – hmmm! So first, what’s ‘hakka?’ Wikipedia had this to share:

Anti-Loneliness Ramen Bowl: Exclusive Interview With MisoSoupDesign
I saw a lot of posts lately about the fantastic new ‘Anti Loneliness Ramen Bowl’ lately – a product designed by Miso Soup Design. I thought people would really like to know more about it – straight from the source. I was fortunate to be able to contact the makers of this neat new product and did an interview via email. In the future, I’ll be receiving a sample and put it through its paces with a video review! For now, here’s the interview:

#890: Unif / Tung-I Mushroom Flavor Ramen Noodles
So today I have two mushroom flavored instant noodles I’ll be doing. First off will be this Unif/Tung-I mushroom pack. What’s interesting about this one is that Unif Tung-I is usually from Taiwan, but this one’s from Vietnam. Anyways, let’s try this one and see how it is.
Re-Review: Ve Wong Kung Fu Artificial Chicken Flavor Instant Oriental Noodle Soup
The other day we walked over to 99 Ranch Market and my son bought some kamaboko and three packs of instant noodles. This is one of the packs he picked out.
#864: Unif Tung-I Instant Bean Vermicelli Chinese Spices Tong Tsai Flavor (Bean Thread)
I have absolutely no idea about this one. First off, it’s been quite a while since I’ve had a Unif Tung-I pack. Second, I usually don’t like bean thread. Third, Tong Tsai? What’s that? Well, I’m not sure.
#817: Souper Shrimp Flavor Bowl Ramen
Got this one at a grocery store in Livermore, California called Nob Hill. Pretty rare these days that I find something I haven’t tried in a grocery store!
The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Spiciest Instant Noodles Of All Time
* UPDATE * See here.
A couple of days ago, I received an email from a man who was angry. He was angry that the instant noodles he bought said that they were spicy Chicken flavor but weren’t spicy whatsoever and that I needed to change the seasonings ASAP. Every once in a while, I get a comment or email from someone who thinks that I make instant noodles or am affiliated with an instant noodle company. I decided to reply and do a review of the product he had problems with, adding some hot spices, sauces and peppers from around the world to really heat it up. It then occurred to me that a lot of people really like spicy instant noodles and that there’s really no list of the hottest ones out there. I figured I’d better do something about that, and so here’s the Top Ten Spiciest Instant Noodles Of All Time!
#762: Long Kow Kimchi Pickles Bean Vermicelli
Here’s one Greg B. from Florida sent a while back. This sounds pretty interesting – let’s give it a try.
#741: Wei Lih Good Good Eat Super Ramen Vegetable Flavor
Here’s another one from Michelle L. of Tarrytown, New York. I think this is the third and final flavor of the Good Good Eats – at least insofar as I’ve not seen any more anywhere. Let’s give it a try!
#708: Wu-Mu Pork Flavor Ramen Mi Thit Bam
Got this on our recent trip to California at a 99 Ranch down there. I rememebr enjoying the beef one I got the time before in California during our honeymoon, so figured it’d be a good idea to give this one a try!
#706: Unif Man Han Feast Spring Onion Eel Flavor Instant Noodle
Are you ready for the Man Han Feast???! I suppose I am! Wow – what an interesting bowl of noodles – VERY curious to see what lurks within…
#666: Lishan Food Mfg Co. Ltd. Chinese Instant Noodle
This has to be one of the strangest instant noodles I’ve seen. No instructions. Strange packets. Here we go with #666!
#640: Master Kong Artificial Spicy Beef Flavor Instant Noodle
Sadly, this is last of the Master Kong varieties sent to me by Chad B. of Highland, Illinois – thanks again Chad – your stickers went out in the mail yesterday!

#630: Ve Wong Kung-Fu Artificial Mushroom Pork Flavor Instant Oriental Noodle Soup

Thanks again to Chad B. of Highland, Illinois for sending these Master Kong packs! Braised beef eh? Hmmm I wonder how this will be – if the Pork one was any indicator, I’m going to like this!
#624: Master Kong Artificial Pork Flavor Instant Noodle
Here we have one of the three packages I got yesterday as part of a gracious donation from a fellow named Chad B. of Highland, Il. Thanks again! Stickers coming soon! I haven’t tried Master Kong products before so I did a little reseasrch on Wikipedia:
#623: Wei-Wei “A” Series Instant Noodles Vegetarian Flavor
Here’s another one that was sent to me by Michelle L. of New York! I know… Yep – it’s a swastika, the symbol of the national socialist party of Germany in WWII, the Nazis. Well, Wei-Wei isn’t a Nazi company or has anything to do with oppression. On the complete opposite side, in the far east it represents the whole of creation as well as Buddhism. Wikipedia says:
#610: Wei-Wei “A” Series Instant Noodles Artificial Chicken Flavor
Here’s yet another from Michelle L. of New York. I am really digging the “A” series so far!
#609: Wei-Wei “A” Series Instant Noodles Artificial Hot Beef Flavor
Here’s another that was sent to me by Michelle L. of New York. This is something I’ve never had before – Wei-Wei brand. Wai Wai yes, Wei-Wei, no. The packaging is interesting – note the guy with the suave hat in the upper right. He’s there; on the scene – purchasing noodles . Let’s see if these noodles rock. Note the economical 49 cent price tag!
#603: Wei Lih Good Good Eat Super Ramen Hot Chili Flavor

#587: Sunlight Steam Vermicelli
The last time I had a bag of instant noodles like this I had a horrible experience; a ball of glued together, sticky, nasty funk. This time I’m a little more experienced and wiser and going to try a different method of attack.
#586: Vedan Bah Kut Tea Noodle For Vegetarian
These look really different. I think I had some Vedan noodles a really long time ago and gave them an extremely low rating – hope it’s better this time!
#585: Ve Wong Artificial Onion Flavor Instant Bean Thread Bowl
And on we go with the onslaught of instant noodles that I’ve not gotten to as they don’t look all that tasty. Today we start with some onion flavored bean thread.
#523: Dragonfly Artificial Hot & Sour Shrimp Flavor Instant Noodles
Hate to say it but this is the last of the Dragonfly brand bowls I found at H-Mart… Bummer! I guess there’s a pork flavor out there in this line so hopefully I’ll end up scoring that one next time I go to H-Mart. Hot & sour shrimp… Sounds like Tom Yum flavor… I guess we’ll see…
#520: Nan Hsing Vegetarian Rice Noodles
This one seems a little unique. I never have seen something like a swastika on a bowl of noodles before – its somewhat foreboding to be honest! Taiwanese noodles with swastikas… Well, I figured I’d better look this up and got this nice piece of information from Wikipedia:
#509: Ve Wong Kung-Fu Shrimp Flavor Instant Oriental Noodle Soup
Shramp! Nothin’ like shramp! Ami I wrong? AM I??? Well, I like shrimp and so today I will ingest a bowl of Ve Wong Shrimp flavor instant noodle soup from Taiwan. ‘Nuff said.
#498: Hsin Tung Yang Tiny Noodle With Oyster Flavor
So while we were in California doing the Disneyland thing this summer, we went to a Ranch 99 and I got this. Never seen anything quite like it before; a fresh noodle bag, Chinese, and said it was enough for six people! I guess it’s time to give it a shot.
