Here’s the second of the Teishi varieties I received recently. The first one was truly exceptional – curious how this one’s going to go – let’s find out!

#3308: Teishi Old Wine Instant Noodles – Taiwan
Here’s something new from Tiawan from a brand I’ve not tried before. This one contains alcohol – yep – real booze! In the past I’ve tried varieties which contain different spirits and found them to be pretty good; the alcohol adds a nice bit of richness and flavor. Let’s give this one a try!
#3297: A-Sha Jin Kung Fu Spicy Scallion Noodle – Taiwan
Here’s one the folks at A-Sha sent over – thanks again! I like spicy and I like scallions a lot. Scallions (spring onion/green onion) are one of the things I always have to have on hand. Period. Let’s check these out!
#3288: Little Cook Spicy Beef Flavor – Thailand
Almost 3000 reviews ago I gave this one a try. It looks as though I really liked it. It’s been such a long time it’s getting a new number- mainly because I’m going to guess that sourcing has changed at least soewhat and also the cup is different; it used to be a foam bowl.
#3278: Uni-President Imperial Big Meal Beef Flavor – Taiwan
This is a big and somewhat heavy bowl from Taiwan. I’ve reviewed the version not made for export (this one usually goes to Hong Kong). What was funny about this one is that I found it up in Canada at a store in Aberdeen Centre – defintely not where this belongs. It’s full of beef and import restrictions would bar it from Canada. What a nice surprise! Let’s check out this one with Australian and New Zealand beef!
#3265: Mom’s Dry Noodle / Blue Elephant Green Curry – Taiwan
One of my favorite styles of curry would have to be green curry. It’s very different from the others – a kind of crisp and savory flavor rolled into one. This is really exciting to try – curry from Taiwan in collaboration with a company from Thailand. Very curious. Been waiting a couple weeks to hit this up, so let’s go!
#3254: Mom’s Dry Noodle / Blue Elephant Red Curry – Taiwan
Two weeks. Two long weeks. I haven’t done a review in two weeks!! Our apartment got remodeled, plus I had a sinus infection that basically knocked out my sense of taste. Yeah – that wasn’t cool at all. But I’m back – back to walking, and today back to reviewing. The remodel is done and I’m enjoying my noodles once again!
#3252: Shin Horng Lukang Thin Noodles Ginger & Sesame Oil Flavor – Taiwan
I often end up at 99 Ranch Market to pick up mung bean sprouts, other produce, and other things once every week or so. It’s a chain of Asian markets that started on the west coast but after looking at their site, they’ve popped up all over the United States – which is good – they’ve got lots of neat stuff.
#3240: Tseng Noodles Spicy Dolar – Taiwan
Recently, I heard about a variety from Tseng that I guess has been around for a little while but I’d never heard of it. A lot of confusion for me about this one. The biggest issue is the variety itself – what the heck is spicy dolar anyway? Nothing I could find on Wikipedia or elsewhere. But dolar must be a pretty common concept because there’s a restaurant in Canada I saw in Richmond that mentions it – something like Dolar Hotpot or something. Well, let’s check it out!
#3230: Ve Wong Dah Wei Wang Instant Noodles Artificial Premium Garlic Pork Flavor – Taiwan
During my 2017 trip to Taiwan, I visited a 7-Eleven in Taipei. I pointed out a variety and my friend corrected my speech. I thought for years this brand was Ve Wong – pronounced vee wong. Actually, it’s more like way wong. It appears I was way wrong on this. But now I know! Yeah, poor joke. Roll your eyes and let’s have a look at this neat variety!
Mom’s Dry Noodle / Blue Elephant Curries From Taiwan!
Check this out! Top Ten listers Mom’s Dry Noodles have collaborated iwth a Thai company to make a couple neat curry varieties! They’ve not done anything non-Taiwanese styled before, so this should be interesting – check out the unboxing video!
#3201: Tian Ling Ling Dried Noodles With Shallot Sauce – Taiwan
The second of two varieties sent by Yonghai – thanks again! The first had a wide noodle, this one looks to be much thinner. Let’s give it a try!
#3198: Tian Ling Ling Dried Noodles With Chili & Shallot Sauce – Taiwan
Here’s something new from Taiwan! I really like spicy and definitely like shallot. Let’s check it out!
Unboxing Time: Two Taiwanese Companies Unite To Send Four New Varieties – Taiwan
Two companies. One goal – to have me evaluate their products on here. Watch me crack open this big box from Taiwan and see what’s inside!
#3183: Uni-President Imperial Big Meal Super Hot Pot Beef Flavor – Taiwan
This one’s very interesting. This is from Taiwan but for the Hong Kong Market. Found it up in Canada at Aberdeen Centre at a little gift shop full of Hello Kitty and other stuffed animals in the back – it’s near the food court.
#3174: TIEasy Sesame Sauce Handmade Noodle – Taiwan
I got an email asking if I’d like to try a new noodle and of course I said yes. Turns out the fellow who wants to distribute it is up in Vancouver, BC. So I emailed him while we were up there and we met up at Foodyworld in Richmond. He gave me this and another variety as well as a pack with different kinds of noodles that contain vegetable – like a purple yam noodle, pumpkin noodle, etc. This was really cool – we chatted for a few and two days later, I’m giving these noodles a try. Let’s check them out! By the way TIEasy is short for Take It Easy.
#3167: Vedan Jhen Mian Tang Braised Beef Noodles With Ginger – Taiwan
Here’s one of the last ones sent by a Taiwanese university student who has probably graduated by now – thanks again and good luck! This is a really big box – let’s check it out!
#3163: Mom’s Dry Noodle Spicy Hot Pot Noodle – Taiwan
Here’s a fancy new one from Taiwan! Lots of brands with boxed versions these days. You might see my logo on this one – Mom’s Dry Noodle has been on the top ten Taiwan as well as my annual top ten for the last two years! I will say I haven’t tried this one until today though, but given their track record, I’ll bet it’s good stuff! Let’s find out!
#3160: Mazendo Noodles With Chili Mala Sauce – Taiwan
This one arrived yesterday and I decided hey – how about a mukbang. So since they sent two four packs I went ahead and did one. Timing just worked well – crack it open after the unboxing video and give it a try – why not? I’ve been battling a cold that’s been going around – my son had it then gave it to me and my daughter – only ne left is my wife and I hope she doesn’t end up with it… But some spicy noodles fit the bill yesterday. Let’s check ’em out!
#3157: TIEasy Traditional Scallion Sliced Noodle – Taiwan

Top Ten Best Instant Noodles Of All Time 2019
This is my list of my all time favorites (compiled up to review #3132). These are the best and most memorable varieties – some you’ll be able to find easily, some you won’t. In the images you see, you’ll see garnished bowls of noodles. Note – reviewing is done BEFORE products have anything externally added by myself, and I follow directions on the package – for better or for worse. I should also note that going forward, the official last day for companies to submit varieties to be considered for the annual top ten will be January 31st. That’s enough – let’s have a look at The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time 2019 Edition!

#3139: A-Sha Guanmiao Noodle Spicy Fennel – Taiwan
This is the second of two A-Sha varieties I got a little while back. I’ve been cranking out three reviews a day lately and chugging through a lot of new stuff. Now that a lot of the varieties are churned through, I can focus on some things in the hamper. See, my hampers are very full. When I get new stuff, they go into the area next to the kitchen. Instead of tripping over boxes, I try to run through them quickly! So here we have a wide noodle from Taiwan. Let’s get started.
#3131: TTL Spicy Pork With Rice Wine – Taiwan
I recently did a Meet The Manufacturer series where I tried every single one of TTL’s varieties. TTL is Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor. While these packs don’t include a cigar, they do include a sachet of rice wine – and a big retort pouch filled with meat and sauce! Rad! Looking forward to trying this new variety – let’s check it out!
#3117: A-Sha Gourmet Sesame Paste Noodle – Taiwan
-sha
This is the last of the quartet of varieties from A-Sha that they sent to me a little while back. With this, I think I’ve cleared out all the odds and ends of noodle varieties that have been sitting in the kitchen – boo yah! Next will be the boxes next to counter in the kitchen lol – should be able to whittle those down quite a bit this week as well.
#3114: A-Sha Gourmet Sichuan Peppercorn Flavor – Taiwan
Here’s the third of the A-Sha Gourmet varieties I’m trying today. There’s one more left. So translation isn’t my strong suit and I often turn to friends and colleagues as to what different varieties are called and translate them. At this exact moment, I’m dumbfounded. Google’s not very helpful; one says hemp. I could be mistaken, but I think hemp isn’t going to be in the name of this one. I’ve had varieties say they’re dolphin bone as well, which most certain isn’t the case! I’ll find out shortly though!
#3109: Wu-Mu Jing Xiang Ban Mian Ramen Soup – Chili Beef Flavor – Taiwan
Today, we’ve got a nice one from Taiwan’s Wu-Mu. This is a newer variety that uses wide gauge noodles for a soup – something I find really interesting and not done nearly enough. Although these noodles are absolutely excellent in a dry noodle (without broth) setting, I think in soup they really excel too. Let’s see how these end up!
#3104: Yi Lai Shuen Handmade Noodles With Spicy Chili Sauce – Taiwan
So here’s somewhat of a mystery to me. I’ve never heard of this company, nor am I familiar with their products. But here they are – and they arrived in the mail yesterday in a box with such a big hole in it all I needed to do to see was was inside was reach in and pull a pack out. That’s pretty unique! Let’s give these a try!
#3100: A-Sha Gourmet Braised Beef Noodle Soup – Taiwan
Here’s yet another box from Taiwan – they’re getting more popular these days for companies who want to roll out a premium variety. I like boxes; they look fancy and usually mean meats will be at play. Here’s a little about Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup from Wikipedia –
Unboxing A $15 Gourmet Wagyu Beef Noodle Box – Taiwan
So this is some epic looking stuff. A-Sha USA was kind enough to send one of the fanciest products A-Sha Taiwan makes – their Gourmet Wagyu Beef Noodle Soup. So first things first – you want to get some? Well, it’s only available during the holidays i.e. Lunar New Year – so you might have a year to wait for it. But here I can show you what it looks like and tell you some about it – including the fact that this goes for $15.

Meet The Manufacturer: #3079: Fu Chung Village Dry Noodles With Sauce – Spicy Sichuan Pepper With Vinegar – Taiwan
Here’s the first of a trio from Fu Chung – a spicy Sichuan variety with vinegar. No doubt this includes Sichuan pepper. Now, it’s not like a fleshy chili pepper – it’s a peppercorn. Here’s a little about Sichuan pepper flavor from Wikipedia –
Meet The Manufacturer: Interview with Fu Chung – Taiwan
#3070: A-Sha Gourmet Traditional Taiwanese Soybean Paste Noodle – Taiwan
Time for dry noodle! This is the second from a set of four new A-Sha varieties. Soybean paste noodles impart a kind of meaty hit to them usually. Let’s give ’em a try!
#3069: Vedan Wei Wei Premium Noodle With Spicy Beef – Taiwan
Here’s one sent by a reader who found it in the Philippines – thanks! Definitely looks different from the ones found in Taiwan. Export version! Let’s check it out!
Beef Noodle Samples from Mom’s Dry Noodle of Taiwan | Unboxing Time
I was really interested when I heard Mom’s Dry Noodle was coming out with a boxed version of beef noodle soup. I’ve been following their opening of their own restaurants and the food looks really great! Curious to see how it tastes, but today we’re just having a look at what it looks like. Let’s crack it open!
New Spicy Dolar From Tseng Noodle – Taiwan | Unboxing Time
A friend send me a picture showing this new variety from Tseng Noodle I’d not heard of before: Spicy Dolar. I thought hmmm… I’d better see if I can get a sample! Well, the box arrived, I’m ready to open it, and so let’s have a look!
A-Sha Dry Noodle Beef Noodle & Spicy Scallion from Taiwan | Unboxing Time
Got a box this time from A-sha of Taiwan. They have a lot of different products, but this one is very different. The company is known as a maker of dry noodle products, hence usually no broth. But this looks to have broth – let’s give it a close look.
