#359: Nissin Bowl Noodles Hot & Spicy Beef Flavor

So here’s one we got a Megalomanianmart the other day. Was nice to see there was another flavor out there; I think this stuff’s pretty okay. One thing I noticed – the other two I’ve reviewed say ‘with chicken’ or ‘with shrimp,’ and this one just says ‘beef flavor.’ Kind of interesting I thought. ...see full post

#320: Maruchan Hot & Spicy Picante Chicken Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup

So what a shocker – we were strolling down the aisle of a big box grocery store and saw this sitting there. I like how they incorporated the Mexican flag into the packaging too! While trying to find a commercial for the last review (#319: Maruchan Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup) I found a TON of homemade videos for Maruchan Instant Lunch as well as official ones. It was insanity! test ...see full post

#200: Nongshim Bowl Noodle Soup Spicy Chicken Flavor

So this is the 200th instant noodle I’ve reviewed! So bright eyed and vaguely bushy tailed at 6:30am, here we go! I’d like to first thank Kit for picking #199 and #200 for my reviews and also for cruising us around and going to all of these Asian groceries around here. If you like the Ramen Rater, go see her Asian and otherwise snack reviews site at http://www.supertastysnacks.com – she just started it last week and she’s got her first few reviews up! Looking good! ...see full post

#90: Long Kow Crystal Noodle Soup 6 Kinds of Mushrooms

Click image to enlarge. Slightly spicy. The mushrooms don’t actually have a lot of flavor. The mushrooms were a bit mushy. There’s some yellow stuff that I don’t know what it is… The little yellow bits taste like egg… The noodles are good but they’re hard to eat – they don’t want to stay on a fork and are slimy. I wouldn’t say this stuff is anything special. 2.3 out of 5 stars. Get it here. ...see full post

#23: Nissin Top Ramen Creamy Chicken Flavor

Nissin: Top Ramen Creamy Chicken Flavor Stars: **** 1/2
Notes: As I have said before, dropped the ball here – really pedestrian. If you’re looking for something authentic, this isn’t it. One thing though – this is the company that originated ramen! This flavor caught my eye today as I feel under the weather and was
hungry. I threw a good tablespoon or two of minced onion [dehydrated] in it
and was pleasantly surprised. If I had another package of it, I would be hard
not to eat it right this instant. The high marks are earned for the flavor, but as far as adventure, it gets a single star. ...see full post

#12: Sapporo Ichiban Japanese Style Noodles & Shrimp Flavor Soup

Sapporo Ichiban: Shrimp Flavor
Stars: ** 1/2
Notes: Wasn’t all that jazzed about this stuff – I do think I like the Maruchan Shrimp a
tad bit better. The difference however, is that this package of noodles is very
dense – lots of noodles! A plus, but not enough to make me stoked. Get it here.
