The wheat noodle version of MAMA’s Yentafo Tom Yam Mohfai has been on the annual The Ramen Rater Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time list as well as the cups list for the cup version before. Very curious how the rice vermicelli will be! Looking forward to it – let’s give it a try!

#2168: Tseng Rice Noodle Shallot With Braised Pork Flavor
Here’s another new one from Tseng’s – shallot braised pork. Man, this sounds good – I really have high hopes. As I’ve opined before, Taiwanese braised anything is unbelievably good. Really, it isn’t just my opinion – I would mark it down as fact. If you don’t like Taiwanese braised anything, you just don’t know what tastes good and should have your tongue examined for mold or aliens. Let’s give this one a try and see how it translates to a rice noodle.
#2164: Tseng Rice Noodle Chinese Mushrooms With Soybean Vegetarian Braised Pork Flavour
This one sounds curious to me. While I do like braised pork – a lot- I’m unsure about this Chinese mushroom. But hey – I’ve been pleasantly surprised in the mushroom department before, right? Let’s give it a go!
#2008: Sichuan Baijia Hot Spicy Flavor Instant Vermicelli
I’m pretty sure this is the first Baijia bowl I’ve reviewed. For the longest time, I was extremely leery of these; I have a couple Baijia products I really disliked. However, after some time, I found that my tastes have really changed (especially after tring different things overseas and reviewing hundreds of instant noodles) and now I’m keen on giving them a new look. Well, let’s check this one out!
#1984: Nissin Chinese Tan Tan Vermicelli
Here’s one that the folks from Prima Taste in Hong Kong sent – thanks you! So Tan Tan – what is it? Wikipedia, if you please:
#1977: MyOri Malaysia Penang Green Curry Vermicelli [New Package]
Last Monday, I posted the new variety of curry from MyOri, the only one with non-fried wheat noodles (the only one with my face on the back as well). Today, I wanted to show off the new green curry vermicelli package with me on it. I tried this almost a year ago and loved it immediately. I’ve kind of had a love/hate relationship with rice noodles/vermicelli over the years. Some don’t hydrate well, some seem like mush. Let’s explore this one again – the winner of the inaugural The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Rice Noodles Of All Time 2015 Edition. By the way, these are for sale in the United States; as soon as they tell me where I’ll let you know.
MyOri Creates New Packaging – Endorsed By The Ramen Rater
Got this package in the mail yesterday – let’s look inside!
MyOri’s new packaging (click to enlarge) – looks really snazzy!
#1948: Sichuan Baijia Artificial Pickled Cabbage Fish Flavor Instant Vermicelli
I’ve been checking out a few of these Baijia varieties recently, and they’ve been interesting. When I first started reviewing, I generally found the flavors and varieties to be pretty horrid, but after a few years , I’m starting to come around. Pickled cabbage and fish, eh? Well, let’s have a look.
#1705: Premiere Gold Bihun Kari Heritage Instant Curry Vermicelli
Here’s an interesting looking one from Malaysian company Twetnty-Twenty. I remember seeing this on Instagram and wondering who made it and if I could try it. I sent a message and it turned out the poster was the manufacturer, and so here we are. Let’s have a look at this curry rice noodle!
#1639: Pama Bihun Creamy Tom Yam Flavour
Bihun (or beehoon) is basically rice vermicelli. Pama is a brand by President Rice Products of Thailnd and looks to be for sale in Malaysia. Make sense? Okay now on to the flavor: tom yam. Tom yam (or tom yum) is a very standard Thai variety – spicy, lemon/citrus, spicy, and usually shrimp. I was told that the creamy isn’t from dairy but from the boiling of shrimp! Let’s check it out!
New Products From MAMA!
Here’s a package of new products from Thailand! These are all rice-based products – let’s check ’em out!
#1316: Ottogi Japchae Vermicelli Noodle
Ottogi sent me a box of noodle samples a while back in hopes of doing a Meet The Manufacturer series. Unfortunately, timing and language barriers made that hard to come to fruition, so I figured I ought to review some of the varieties they’ve sent over time. This one’s Japchae – a traditional South Korean dish of clear noodles, vegetables and meats. Good stuff, at least what I’ve tried in a restaurant! Let’s have a look to see what this is like.
#1288: Sau Tao QQ Scallop Seafood Flavoured Vermicelli
I thought why not have something a little different today. This cup’s been around the bottom of the hamper for a while… So, what does QQ mean? Pretty much really thin noodle. Let’s check it out!

#869: Vina Acecook Good Bean Vermicelli Chicken Flavour
I’ve got to say, this is some of my favorite packaging. I really like the big drumstick in the picture and the old english exclaiming ‘good.’ I hope it’s good! I’d rather it be better than just good, but I think I’ll just wait and see.
#864: Unif Tung-I Instant Bean Vermicelli Chinese Spices Tong Tsai Flavor (Bean Thread)
I have absolutely no idea about this one. First off, it’s been quite a while since I’ve had a Unif Tung-I pack. Second, I usually don’t like bean thread. Third, Tong Tsai? What’s that? Well, I’m not sure.
#857: Sempio Seafood Vermicelli Soup Anchovy Flavor
Here’s an interesting one: you empty everything into the bowl, add boiling water and poof – it’s done. They’re called it ‘no wait.’ Let’s give it a try.
#762: Long Kow Kimchi Pickles Bean Vermicelli
Here’s one Greg B. from Florida sent a while back. This sounds pretty interesting – let’s give it a try.
#693: Chewy Stir Rice Vermicelli Indonesian Gado-Gado Flavour

#587: Sunlight Steam Vermicelli
The last time I had a bag of instant noodles like this I had a horrible experience; a ball of glued together, sticky, nasty funk. This time I’m a little more experienced and wiser and going to try a different method of attack.
#411: Sunlee Crab Flavour Instant Vermicelli
So here’s an interesting looking one. The noodles are made of mung bean! Bean thread! Let’s check out these noodles from Thailand!
#377: Sau Tao Ho Fan Abalone Chicken Soup Flavored
Yep – here’s another of the Sau Tao’s. I’m just going to go through all of them in a row I think. This is Chicken and Abalone – kind of a new twist on ‘surf and turf’ eh? Anyways…
#361: Tayho Miễn Thịt Băm Vermicelli with Pork Ground Meat
Check this one out! This is manufactured in California. Not foreign! Interesting… Let’s give it a try!
#343: Super Bihun Goreng Instant Fried Rice Noodles
This is definitely the most unique of all the packages of noodles I have ever found. Let’s get started.
#301: Dragonfly Guilin Style Flavor Guilin Rice Vermicelli Bún Quế Lâm
So three hundred reviews behind this and onward we go! So here’s a brand I’ve never seen before. A lot of funny stuff on this package – shrimp flavor, bad English… But proof is in the eating right?
#299: Lucky Me! Supreme Sotanghon Artificial Chicken Flavor Instant Vermicelli Soup
So here’s the third Sotanghon flavored instant noodles I’ve tried – the others weren’t really my thing. Hopefully I like this one a bit!
#174: Lucky Me! Instant Sotanghon Instant (Vermicelli Soup) Artificial Chicken Flavor
Again today I asked my lady Kit to pick a couple packs of noodles to eat. The first is this one.
#167: Wai Wai Crab Flavour Instant Rice Vermicelli
So Wai Wai not some of this stuff today eh? Crab flavour. Haven’t eaten a whole lot of crab in my life. Curious how it will taste…
